Won't be well received here either, since we screwed up our home match with UAE we really could've done with the 3 points. Uzbeks beat UAE and we are in trouble.

Anything less than a win on Sunday against Uzbekistan will mean that we are playing for second place.Iraq and UAE are in the same boat. One of them must win.

    That pretty much eliminates us.

We won, but I still not convinced with the performance.
Any way, Iraq now in a good position. We have 2 matches in home and one away against Australia.

Amazing turnaround by Bahrian, 2 nil down and scored 3 in the final 10 minutes.

Qatar got the equiliser at the death, saw last 25 minutes of the game, seemed two even sides going at it.

Saw the last 20-25 minutes, Syria would be disapointed. They looked quite good, not what I expected from a West Asian team going to Japan. Japan nicked the game at the death.

3 games for us so far, two at home, and no goals to show for it so far. We simply don't have a good enough team. We tried hard but there was simply too much poor ball control and passing in this game by us to mount enough pressure to get a goal. Looks like we will not be represented in football at London.

We're not that bad, especially compared to the 2008 squad, we're just in a harder group and missing a goalscorer.

Syria is good team and NO.10 is very talented player. In Japanese Message board, many posters want him playing in J-League.
It was good match , and next match against Syria will be more tough one. I hope JFA can call all available players.

Australia can still qualify however will need to take 3 wins in the final 3 matches. I dont understand why they have found it tough to score. They should recall the likes of Amini and Antoinos into the squad to deliver more opportunities to the strikers. Most games they have not had many shots, nor created many clear cut chances.

You've answered your own question. The simpler reason is that the other teams in the group are as good or better than us. 3 wins, with two matches away from home, is possible I guess. However if we were good enough to do that we would have been good enough to score in at least one of the three matches we've played.

We were pretty good in Dubai, Iraqi keeper had some great saves to make, but on the whole we're not at full strength and Vidmar hasn't found a way to compensate.
