FT Philippines 2-0 Myanmar Thailand 3-1 Vietnam. Philippines and Thailand advances to the semis from Group A.
Thanks avocados. Good effort by the Myanmar team. The commentator on the telecast mentioned that a lot of your players are eligible to play in next year's U-23 SEA games. From what I have seen, considering that you have such outstanding young players and since your country will be hosting the event, Myanmar should be one of the favorites to win it all. .
So, with todays results, this will mean that with Myanmar coming 4th in the group, they will play qualifiers again. Vietnam just survive that drop.
Singapore 4-3 Laos Malaysia 2-0 Indonesia Singapore and Malaysia advances to the Semifinals where they will face the Philippines and Thailand respectively.
There will be a one-minute silence before today’s AFF Suzuki Cup first leg semifinal match between the Philippines and Singapore as a mark of respect for the many Filipinos who lost their lives due to a typhoon that struck the southern portions of the country. This was requested by the Philippines' team manager Dan Palami during the managers' meeting on Friday, and was agreed upon with the match commissioner, AFF officials, the World Sport Group, and the Singapore officials. Local media have reported that at least 500 were killed with many more still missing. The typhoon, named Pablo (international name: Bopha) here, hit the island of Mindanao on Tuesday and caused massive devastation. http://www.aseanfootball.org/v2/?p=11125
Singapore and Thailand advance to the finals after a 1-0 and 3-1 aggregate win over the Philippines and defending champion Malaysia respectively. Looks like this is the time both nations are looking to break their tie on the most number of Asean championships they have (both currently have three). This is gonna be an EPIC final!
Finals Leg 1: FT Singapore 3-1 Thailand. Looks like Singapore's chances to break their deadlock with Thailand with the most number of Asean championships are getting clearer. The only way for Thailand to beat Singapore at their home in the 2nd leg is to only score twice and not to concede an away goal, since Thailand scored an away goal in the first leg, which will count twice. Pretty interesting, I reckon.
Very Surprising. Good performance by Singapore. With Raddy Avramovic saying that he is leaving the national team after this tournament, a lot of teams would be interested in his services.
Congratulations to Singapore for winning the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup after winning 3-2 on aggregate against Thailand. Thailand won 1-0 on the second leg, but as they say, defense wins championships and Singapore did it well to prevent the War Elephants to score another goal to steal them of the trophy having an advantage of the away goals rule. This has been a great time to end Raddy Avramovich's career with the Lions. Wishing him well on all their future endeavours!

Holy double post stellarboy! Even recognize some of my quotes. Just kidding man. Indeed. Congratulations to Singapore for winning the Suzuki Cup. They now hold the record for the most championships in the Suzuki Cup at 4. I think FAS would have to rethink their position about letting Avramovic go, in light of this success. It will be interesting to see where he will eventually will end up with.
Well done Singapore, well done Avramovic, done so much for football in the state. Well done Duric, caps off a fine career. The game itself today, all Thailand, but they just didn't create enough chances, they didn't really have many opportunites other than from corners, which except from the goal, Singapore cleared their lines all day long. Singapore were very disiplined and it was a fine defenceive performance, something many teams in the region could learn from really. Very impressed with Singapore really. Deserved winners. Of course, the Thai fans feel they should be crowned champions because Singapore showed nothing in this game, but over two legs, it evens it out. As for the championship itself, well, it appeared Thailand where up for it and wated to claim the championship they haven't had for 10 years now. The motivation was there, so hoping it will be their next time, the same for Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines aswell as defending champs Singapore. So future bodes well really. Once again, well done Singapore. I haven't seen many of their games accept the opener against Malaysia, but they are top dogs one again. Just a pity now that as champions a new coach will come in and start the process over again with AFC qualfiiers in Feb, lets hope they take this momentum forward.
Sorry for that double post, Pelefan. This site is quite buggy sometimes, if you know what I mean. Anyway, it was indeed deserving of Singapore to claim the championship even if Thailand have been dominating most of the tournament. The Thai players really had lots of chances to win it all. All the stats during the second leg showed that they should've won, but the aggregate score (and the results of the first leg) can't lie. It's quite sad, though, that Singapore may have a new coach after this, and a few key players are retiring from national duty including evergreen forward Aleksandar Ðuric, who also might leave Tampines Rovers in the next S-League season, from what I have heard. The squad might go back to square one and learn a new system their new coach may provide, not to mention they would have to replenish their senior team pool with their well-trained yet somewhat raw and inexperienced youth players. This edition of the ASEAN Football Championship has been the most competitive and exciting ever. Hoping for more of this in 2014.
All congratulations due to Singapore. We dug ourselves too deep a hole in the first leg, and although we controlled the second leg entirely, we couldn't break through Singapore's defense often enough to catch them on the second leg. Disappointing, though. After Kirati's goal just before halftime, I really thought we were going to pull it out.
He should leave on a high. He has already brought us as far as he could. We need to improve further and not be content with winning the Suzuki Cup. A new coach with new ideas may help us.
