No, just read this news in our media, I hope that it is not true, and we will see Afghanistan in the finals.

It says the AFC sent to all the 16 federations that qualified to the finals a list of the names of the national teams that will participate in the finals.

West Asia: Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, India, Oman, Syria.
East Asia: North Korea, China, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Thailand, Australia.

Saudi Arabia name is not included.

Why AFC is not announcing it officially? One of our sites is confident that AFC found some overaged players in Afghan and Syria teams. Although Syrian overaged players didn't take part to any official matches.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Afghanistan for fielding an ineligible player in the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship Group B qualifiers last month.

Afghanistan, who made it to the tournament proper as the third best team from West Zone, fielded Zaiuddin Amruddin who failed the MRI test for age determination.

The committee imposed a 3-0 forfeit of their matches against Kuwait, UAE and Yemen and a US$1000 each fine on all their five group games for violating Article 25 par. C) iii) of the AFC U-16 Championship 2012 qualifiers regulations and Article 55 par. 1 and 3 of the AFC Disciplinary Code.

Afghanistan will now be replaced by Saudi Arabia in the 16-nation AFC U-16 Championship as the third best team from West Zone.

The AFC Disciplinary Committee also imposed a US$1000 fine on Syria for fielding an ineligible player Hassan Tabshow against Nepal in the qualifiers of the same competition for a violation of Article 25 par. c) iii) of the U-16 Championship 2012 Qualifiers Regulations and Article 55 par. 3 of the AFC Disciplinary Code.

Hmm, Syria commited the same offence but didn't get the game against Nepal awarded against them. Different rules for different teams.

The Afghan player failed MRI test for age determination , the Syrian player was "ineligle". I also believe that the Syrian player did not play any matches , the Afghan player played in the qualifiers.

But both teams broke the same rule which surely carries the same outcome?

The article even says fielding an ineligible player Hassan Tabshow against Nepal. He was named substitue, but surely this shows the intention to use him?. The 2 following games he was named as Not Playing which suggests they were found out during the competition and told to not play him whereas Afghanistan weren't told until a further two games were played.

Really unfortunate for a team like Afghanistan I really wanted them to play in the U-16 tourney, they barely get any exposure at International level.

I've never heard a thing, even though my previous post, just above this, say's that the host should have been confirmed by now.

Either I missed it, or it never happened. If it happened, I'd love to know what happened to myself that very day!

According to wikipedia we have it as Iran.

I hope the AFC does not do an Indian thing and just forget about this tournament.

That is a good group. Getting Australia, Japan, or South Korea would be amazing. I love the way the boss the AFC in football.

Kuwait and Oman would insure a place in the next round.
