All Elspamo said is that Hysimmiy poste he'd the list that only had stats from 2003 onwards. Where's the stats for the Asian Club Championship?? Thats what he's saying. He's not making the rules of what years can be used in the stats, but Hysimmiy did.

I can't, i'm babysitting :) My brothers a red, but we're on good form. But with FA Cup coming up we might just need to get soundly beaten to have that bite for cup game. Win tonight and we will be too confident.

why would you wanna do that? What's the point? Again, when people talk about the UEFA CL, they don't just talk about the X or Y era, they talk about all editions as they are continuations of each other. You don't say Real Madrid has X amount of cups in such and such edition and Y amount in... Real Madrid has 9 championships, that's all it matters, not the editions that they won them in!

    some people

    Frankly, Previous competitions are weak
way different between now and before
for example, now ACL all played home & away
more teams as more spots for Asian Powerhouse sush as South korea, Japan, Australia, KSA and Iran
and btw even wikipedia separates ACL record for some reason
but of course they are complete each other

They're only seperated by the actual official name at the time. Not seperated to another page to mislead you.

How are previous competitions weak? In this day in age teams are professional. In older days teams were amatuer, so in all occasions teams of similiar make up played each other.

I guess it could be the case. But my understanding is that he is saying the calibre of teams are weak. So we might have winners, but the winners beat very weak teams, so he wasn't counting those championships.

I would agree that if on paper a team from say 1995 played a side now then it would make that 95 team way out of their depth. As I see it, teams playing in 1995 for example were mainly all on a par, no teams stood out making it not a weak championship but the same as a championship now.

What hysmmiy was trying to tell us before is that all before 2003 doesn't matter, where in fact he breaks his own rule as the 2003 championship isn't anything like what we see now. If he really wanted to compare the ACL years he might have well started from 2009.

    WTF?!
    lol so ********ing what?

previous editions of the UEFA CL didn't have the same quality either, maybe we should just forget about 3/4 of Real Madrid's cups?

wtf kind of logic are you using? Back then the competition was weak so all the teams were weak. It's not like current Barca was teleported back to 1964 to compete with weak teams! Each new edition is a continuation of the previous one and this is recognized by every governing body. Why don't you create a petition and send it to FIFA and ask them to change the format to your liking?

******** man, you're honestly pissing me off right now lol

His point is that because the competition was weaker, then they shouldn't be counted or looked at in conjunction with the current edition!!

That's like saying Brazil's WC wins shouldnt be counted because the competition back then was weak or 6 of Real Madrid's CL wins shouldn't be counted because they were all before the mid 1960's and the competition was weak!

why? Because he gives amunition to trolls like you.

The original point being made is down right nonsensical. If it's trivial, why are you picking his side and adding fuel to the fire?

I'm going to ask you a question in order to test your logic. How many times has Real Madrid won the UEFA CL?

im not picking their side im just saying whats the big deal? here is a direct quote from wikipedia: "The last five editions (2006–2010) have seen K-League clubs win 3 titles (2006, 2009, 2010) and J.League with 2 titles (2007, 2008), showing the dominance by the Eastern clubs."

thats all the person was saying. even if you use both the result is the same. perhaps he/she couldve clarified they meant the AFC Champions League in its current format.

as far as how many times has Real Madrid won i have no idea. you could say 9 or you could say 9 but 3 in its current format. i just dont think it matters either way

what you're saying is correct and different from what he was/is saying and implying.

Providing a partial list, based on the 2002 format, for a competition that dates back to the 60's is illogical and I have to assume that he's doing it so his own team looks better (I don't know if that's the case but there's no other way of looking at it).

Real Madrid has 9 CL trophies in the cabinet. Now imagine somebody providing a list where only 3 of RM's trophies are counted!! It would create confusion and insult the fans of the team. Same thing here. Esteghlal of Iran, my favorite team, has won the cup twice and there is no reason why those 2 wins should not be counted. Who cares in what edition they won the cups in.

Yes it was the original point being made on the data he wished to discuss about. I could take my own litlte block of say 1990 to 1995 and have a different point.

Where he failed was saying history of the ACL, yet he missed half the history off!!

Yo jsk, leave them alone, Persians hate to accept real facts against them. Their league is no where near professional and they play in stadiums with blocks of rocks as seats

    South Korea
    9 Wins

    6 Runners up

    Japan
    5 Wins

    3 Runners up

    Saudi Arabia
    4 Wins

    6 Runners Up

    Iran
    3 Wins

    4 Runners up

1993 was the last time a Persian team won it...WOW
