Now time to care about the knock-out stage. We wont even have to care about Saudi match too much now. Just continue to win and top the group.

Should we do that then there's good chance we wont have to play Uzbekistan who are currently leaders of their group, and who look like the real threat of Group D (which consists of Syria, China and India as well).

Korea Republic made it two wins out of two in Group C of the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship with a hard-fought 2-1 win over East Asian rivals Japan at the PAS Stadium on Tuesday.

Hwang Hee-chan, who scored in Korea Republic's 4-2 win over Japan in the qualifiers, put Korea Republic one up in the 13th minute and although Hiroki Ogawa levelled for Japan nine minutes later a Choi Ju-yong goal with three minutes of the first-half remaining ensured the Koreans had the advantage going into the interval.
Japan pressed hard for the equaliser and came close on a few occasions but the Korean defence held firm and sealed the win with a last minute Ko Min-hyeok free-kick to book their place in the last eight.
Japan coach Yoshitake Hirofumi made wholesale changes to the side that started their Group C opener with only five players who began that 2-0 victory retaining their place in the starting 11 against the Koreans.

Conversely, Korea coach Choi Moon-sik opted for consistency with only Lee Gun, who required stiches in his foot after being accidently stepped on during an aerial challenge in the 3-0 win over DPR Korea, and Yoon Yong-ho not retaining their place in the starting line up in Tuesday's crucial clash although both players were on the bench.
The opening ten minutes were an evenly-contested affair with only a tame Takuma Mizutani effort that was comfortably held by Korean keeper Kim Hyoung-jung the only chance of note but with 13 minutes on the clock Hwang Hee-chan broke the deadlock, with his fourth goal of the tournament.
Hwang, who scored all three goals against the North Koreans, latched on to a through ball inside the penalty box and slotted it past Yuya Nagasawa despite the best efforts of the Japanese keeper.
Japan were on level terms in the 22nd minute when Hiroki Ogawa, one of the quintet that also started the Saudi Arabia match, found space on the left just inside the Korean area, and fired a shot that deflected off of a Korean defender and looped over Kim Hyoung-jung before nestling in the corner of the net.
But with three minutes of the first-half remaining the Koreans restored their advantage with midfielder Choi Ju-yong knocking the ball past Nagasawa with the outside of his left foot from just outside the six-yard area.
Kim Hyoung-jung had to get down sharply to keep out a powerful long-range effort from Shinnosuke Nakatani four minutes after the restart and substitute Koki Sugimori, a second-half replacement for Kohya Kitagawa, rattled the Korean post with an angled drive after being set up by Takuma Mizutani in the 53rd minute as Japan pressed for the equaliser.

In the 65th minute Kim Hyoung-jung ensured Korea maintained their advantage with a superb double save, blocking Mizutani's shot before keeping out Yuki Aizu's header as the midfielder followed up the rebound.
It had mostly been Japan attacking and the Koreans defending up until the last minute when Ko Min-hyeok curled home a free-kick with the Japanese defence fooled into thinking Hwang was going to take the set-piece.
It capped another solid performance from the Koreans who will look to maintain their 100% record when Group C reaches its conclusion on Thursday with Japan needing to get a positive result against defending champions DPR Korea to keep their championship hopes alive.

Korea Republic coach Choi Moon-sik was understandably delighted at progressing to the knockout stage with a match to spare but expressed his concern that the number of matches his side is playing in the searing heat of the early afternoon in Tehran could be taking its toll on his players.
"I am very happy with the result. This is the second match we have played at 100pm in the afternoon and playing at this time takes a lot of energy. We used a lot of stamina in our first match against DPR Korea and that is why we didn't play so well in the second-half against Japan.
"Will analyse the matches of our opponents from Group D when we know them but whoever we play in the quarter-finals we will prepare thoroughly for this match."
Korea Republic round off their group stage campaign against Saudi Arabia on Thursday at the Rah Ahan Stadium while the potentially decisive DPR Korea-Japan clash takes place over at the PAS Stadium with both games kicking-off at 500pm Tehran time.

Liked watching Korea's gk...although he got saved by the post a couple times, he looked to get really outstretched for those saves. And good hands on the header. Also liked the way he yelled at the defense, good authority. Refreshing to see those outstretched saves, different style that I prefer compared to that of JSR
