Given Seattle needs help on the backline this is a great move. If he wasn't ready for MLS level then he wouldn't be signed.

OK. Should Yedlin languish on the Reserve squad, I want you step up and say so. Deal?

Heh. Don't worry, he'll get a lot of playing time even if he isn't the designated starter. Johansson is rather injury prone.

Last season Johansson missed 13 regular season games through a combination of injuries and national team call-ups.

Seattle traded #16 pick and allocation money to TFC and take GA Fwd Zaveleta

So now I guess we get to find out if Zaveleta is a forward or a CB.

Curious to see if he plays both spots as a sub if he makes the 18

I would conclude that Sounders focused on Defense during the early part of the offseason.

I think everyone figured that they would. Now they need to find a forward to replace montero once that loan happens which is not yet official.

To be honest, an EJ, Zakuani, Martinez, Rosales attack sounds ok to me to start the season. Not that I think the Sounders are done doing anything this off-season, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's summer before we see a major signing.

Zak would do better at LW than at forward. If its Rosales/martinez then we would either bring in RW type player for depth or have evans at RW as backup

Have to wonder how much allocation we used in the draft trade. If we were cap crunched to begin with what can trading the means to buy down cap space mean? I have supreme confidence in our FO but that surprised me while I watched on espn3. Either way welcome Eriq

Generation Addias player that is huge. (essential a budget player (1-20) but no cost to cap) We got a CB/FWD at no cost of cap space where as if we looked out of the league it would had cost us cap space that we would have to open. A very good move.

Sigi said the only reason the deal worked is because his GA contract bumped a minimum salary guy into the 20 roster spots that hit the cap. So it's reasonable to assume the Allocation was close to that salary amount-- $50k-ish for them to move down 6 spots. Seems reasonable.
