Not necessarily. They could be cutting Ford as well. He just doesn't have a twitter account. Heck, just because Weber and Meredith were cut it doesn't mean they won't be in camp in pre-season. After our first year we cut most of our developmental players, but they were in pre-season trying out for the team.

we would need to open a DP spot though for that to happen.

And we are a little heavy in that position right now... We'd have to lose Montero or Tiffert, right?

Not what I was talking about. Verdu is an attacking midfielder, isn't he? Buying down Rosales's contract still leaves us in the position of having three players to fill two positions and all three of them eating up a DP's amount of budget space.

Yeah, allocation$. I wonder how much of this rumor is sounders not willing to resign or Parke not wanting to resign.

We are really cap tight since we didn't qualify for the CCL so someone has got to go. Rumor has it Parke wants to go back east.

Losing Parke would suck.... If it is cap related we would need to do some dredging, and hope that Duran recovers quickly. Have to wonder if Tetteh is any closer to being ready. Also wonder if we will draft specific needs this year or go after best available again.

I kinda doubt tetteh is ready. I think Seattle needs to look at defense in the draft.

We have three excellent CB's, I thought that losing one wouldn't hurt us too much.
I also thought that G.Farfan is a decent young LB. Although I doubt that Philly would let us have him in exchange for Parke.

Of the three CBs, I think Parke was the best. That being said, I don't think Parke was particularly happy with being in Seattle as a result of the lowball offers we gave him in 2009 and 2010. It seemed like the only reason he even ended up signing with the team in 2010 was because he didn't have any other options as his international options were dried up and the Sounders owned his MLS rights...

Reads, Wilmer Crisanto's door to playing abroad has opened up as representatives from Seattle Sounders were in attendance this past Sunday in La Ceiba to watch Crisanto play their tie against Motagua.

They play in the finals against Olimpia this week and next week. two legs

Well, that's one way to decrease cap.. Depth at CB just took a major hit, but salary cap loves the $200k opening up.

Ack, Parke was about as solid of a defender as your likely to get in MLS. I guess something had to give in terms of cap room. RSL loses Olave to NY and Parke to Philly. Two strong CBs going East.

I suppose this was inevitable. Judging by Adrian's own words and all the cap estimates out there Parke won't be the only key player we lose this offseason.

I dunno.. Based on the estimates I've seen, Parke's salary pretty much puts us at cap.
