They were really hoping for Kendall Wright probably. I'm hoping Alshon Jeffery goes to CLV at 37. The dude has hands and they need someone with reliable hands. So much promise messed up so fast. Typical Browns.
With the twenty-sixth pick in the 2012 NFL Draft: The Houston Texans select: Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois, 6'3", 261lbs ESPN Insider Grade: 89, Position Rank: 5
I didn't expect him to get grabbed by Tennessee. That team needs so much defense that taking a WR in the first round is borderline scandalous.
With the twenty-seventh pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select: Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin, 6'3", 314lbs ESPN Insider Grade: 88, Position Rank:3 I know that Green Bay wanted him. Absolute wrecking ball of a guard. Pulls fantastically.
With the twenty-eighth pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select: Nick Perry, DE, Southern Cal, 6'2", 271lbs ESPN Insider Grade: 88, Position Rank: 6 Wanted to see Nebraska's Lavonte David go here.

Seriously? Come on. It's hard enough being a Seahawks fan. Are they trying to suck now? From a comment on the Seattle Times blog: "Paul Allen has been possessed by Al Davis!" Character issues? Sweet.
With the thirty-first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Doug Martin, RB, Boise State, 5'9", 223lbs ESPN Insider Grade: 90, Position Rank: 2
He was arrested on March 2 for destruction of property when he destroyed a sign at a Morgantown Jimmie John's. Originally dropped out of high school in 11th grade and was arrested then too. Link

I guess the word on the street now is that McCoy will be traded. They told him they weren't going to draft a QB in the second round then took the Ginger with their 22nd. And now he McCoy is on the trade block. SUPPOSEDLY there are a lot of teams interested as he is better than pretty much everyone's backup (not my opinion, just what I am seeing). Ginger is 28/29 years old. So, you pretty much HAVE to start him.
Well, they didn't take a QB in the second round. If I'm a team with an entrenched Starting QB, Green Bay-Dallas-Denver, I'm calling Cleveland and seeing what they want.
I never thought McCoy was the problem. Who the hell has thrown the ball to? They got a bunch of worthless WR's. Brandon Weeden will have the same predicament. I am surprised they didn't draft his security blanket in Blackmon.
He is what the Browns should have done. Stand pat and draft Blackmon, Weeden, and LaMichael James in the 2nd round. This is a passing league, plain and simple.
No shit, at least we are on the same page. Didn't go back far enough to quote ya so plllllltttttt. NFL is a passing league, there is no other explanation for it. Only the Steelers can get away with the power run game due to their dominant defense. Teams with leading rushers: Viqueens, Texans, Titans, and Jags. Where exactly are they? Nowhere near a SB. Trent Richardson is not going to do anything for the Browns because any respectable D is going to go man coverage on those "dynamic" WR's and load up the box.
Cleveland screwed up twice last night, with the panic trade up, then taking Weeden as their QB of the future. BW is a guy who benefited from his receiver Blackmon. The Bengals have the previous OK state QB Zac Robinson on their practice squad and I don't think Weeden is much better than Robinson. Cleveland would have been much better off taking Blackmon at 4, DeCastro at 22, then another lineman or RB at 37.
I agree that the Browns need a WR the most, but I'm satisfied with Richardson. He will be a beast and can take some pressure off the quarterback. That alone will help, but it's just too hard to talk myself into Weeden at #22 especially when you need help on the right side of the line and two good prospects are available there with Reiff and Decastro. Taking that helps the line and there are still some decent WR prospects that can be taken with the 37th pick. You could have given McCoy a better line with a real running back and another receiver. How is that better than this? McCoy shouldn't be traded, if he's a good backup then he can back up Weeden. You won't get anything for a guy who didn't win in Cleveland after going in the third round. Every team already passed him up 2-3 times last year. What could you get this year after they've seen all his flaws in his starts? I'd rather have McCoy than another 6 or 7 pick.
I agree. LaMichael James could be a Darren Sproles type player. Drew Brees can thank Darren Sproles for his record with all those dump offs. Browns could definitely use a dump off speedster with their shaky o-line.
I am ok with Richardson but the Weeden pick seems a waste. They need O-line help and WR help. Reiff or Decastro would have gone a long way to help whatever quarterback is throwing the ball because they will actually get more than 2 seconds before being sacked. Richardson vs Blackmon. I was happy with either or. The "experts" were saying Blackmon isnt as good as AJ Green, Julio Jones, or Megatron coming out of college so I think he might have been a reach simply because he was the #1 receiver in this class.
