Looks like Garde got his tactics all wrong for this one. The way Toulouse plays us it was going to be a battle regardless at their stadium. Malbranque seemed to playing left wing and was a non-factor until he was eventually dropped back to midfield to make room for n'jie when he came on after Toulouse scored in the second half. He and the other youngsters looked better equiped to challenge the faster, more motivated Toulouse players and Lyon looked close to scoring until Toulouse countered and made it 2-0. Reveilliere seemed to be really sorely missed in the second half because it seemed like Garde opted for a 3 man backline in order to push up into Toulouse's half. Lisandro also would have been useful as a second striker option or on the wing.
I'm concerned about the mid-week fixture against OM this wednesday coming after a brutal 3-0 defeat with our starting 11 (without Lisandro and Bastos though). I think Garde will need to be really smart about who he decides to line up against Marseille, weighing in factors such as freshness, sharpness, and whether some of the youngsters deserve their chance to start in a big L1 matchup.
RED FOR FANNI soooo crappy of a rightback how the hell did he get call ups in the past! lmao Raymond Domenech was a real crackhead thinking hes a world class rightback
I have a feeling I'm going to be watching the highlights to this game over and over. Maybe more times than I've watched this:
what a coincidencee! that's exactly what i was telling people at work all day! that it's time for a SMACKDOWN! to show 'em who's raoul!
That was great. I was pulling for OL because they are a club that actually has a vision of what they want and they know what they are trying to do and the other guys are just a clueless, disorganized mess.
Is that part of OM's grand plan to get people outside of France insterested in their brand, Joey barton press conferences with fake accents ?
it's not fake or even affected or intentional. he's been living with people who speak english like that for months, and is answering questions spoken that way, it just naturally rubs off.
come on. do brits that live in america start speaking with an ameeericannn accent after a few months?
they do. you don't notice it because it still sounds more british than american to you, but on the phone their friends in blighty will think they sound american. my kids usually have lyonnais accents but coming back after 6 months in the states they got complimented on their french... because people didn't realize they were native speakers. And theough my wife doesn't normally have a provencal accent herself (she mostly grew up in the suburbs of paris) i can immediately know when she's on the phone with her family... peuchere!
