I miss Gene Peterson. One of my favorite Rockets moments: I remeber watching it on TV at the time thinking "I bet Gene Peterson is losing his mind right about now." Yep.
Here's some more nostalgia: The Houston Oilers return home to a packed Astrodome after losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1978 AFC championship game. I ran across this while searching for Bum Phillips' kick the door in speech which I couldn't find. But I still hate the Steelers because they made me cry as a 5 year old when beating the Oilers in the AFC title game.
Loved me some Gene Peterson! Every single one of my buddies dads would turn the TV sound down and turn Gene n the radio call up. I continued that until he retired. Miss his passion ror our Rockets. I've raised 4 boys and none of 'em have ever worn black n yellow a day in their lives! Believe that. Caddman, I was 5 as well and remember Renfro's touchdown non touchdown there a season later at three rivers stadium.
I've been sick and assumed that redinthemorning or El Naranja would post this but guess not... http://thethirdintermission.blogspot.com/2012/11/injury-update-tc-lease-non-update.html Pertaining to the Aeros and Toyota Center:
^Now who's going to fight and beat Mayweather? Sergio Martinez or Canelo? Also, Nonito Donaire vs Jorge Arce are fighting next week @ Toyota Center.
I usually go to all the boxing matches in HTX and surrounding cities like SA and Dallast but I'm going to pass on that one. The family wants to save the cash and make a big deal at home. I ********ing hate Mayweather! I hope that ************************ gets his ass ********ing beat!
I am going to the Texan game tonight, I have not seen us win a road game in person since beating Buffalo in 2003. Time to end that streak.
Texans invade New England That's the park in the North End in Boston I believe... Makes me want some Italian food.
^^^ yeah. i'm going to have to go brahmafutbol on yall for a minute. so last night i was watching channel 11 news to hear about the ColdMargeddon that was hitting Houston for like 2 days and i stumbled upon a Jeff McShann (i believe that's his name) report on the travelling Texan fans. by the descriptive nouns and verbs being throwing around it made it seem like this was the first time a sizable Houston contingent had travelled to an away game (he reported 300 Texan fans in New England). ahem, there were thousands in Frisco in 2006, LA 2011 and LA 2012. i get that American football is king around here and that the Texans are really, really good this year. but c'mon! would a 2 second reference to travelling Dynamo fans hurt ya? i mean several of us have travelled to a different country to see our Dynamo play, so don't show me video of Texan fans throwing beer on a Patriots fans and expect me to care. if you want me to be impressed travel to Oakland for a Raiders game and throw beer on them.
Light a flare, smoke bomb, and get banned as a group for half a season...then we'll start talking. This country will never understand soccer culture...........and by country I mean Texas.
You know what really "grinds my gears?" ALl these fake bandwagoning texans fans posing as if they're "super" fans and acting like they been Texans fans since 02. No you guys are not the only texans fans in the city nor the best: Get over it, we can tell the difference between fake fans and you fake little fans who will go back to being Titan's and Patriot's fans after we suck again for a year or two. Go ask them who was our starting quaterback in those first years and if the heavy chance they answer that ask them who the second string quaterback was in those years as well. You'll get some great responses from those "fans". ---Rant over---
Haha. I almost went all Brahmafutbol when I saw that yesterday too. Thanks for saving me the trouble.
Well, there's nothing like getting your ass handed to you on national television. Again. Ah, to be a NFL fan in Houston. Might want to dial down that Super Bowl talk a bit.
It's called "opening up a can of *ss whoop" . Patriots opened up a can tonite. Schaub is not a championship qb.
