With his current form and state he doesnt deserve Brazil.

Meaning people like Saito, Haraguchi, Usami and others will fight hard for those places

Will they be fighting for the same position or what?

Yes, they're fighting to take Inui's spot. With that said Gordon, let's try to not bring the topic off track.
Sad to see Inui off especially in an affordable match.

He should've played against Bayern though, he's always pretty great against them =p

I don't think he feels to good, knowing what he can do. I bet he also scared of missing out on the WC.
    Sad season

Yeah well I am sure that if he plays like in that first season, he would be a starter. So his fault really

He'll surely miss the WC. No doubt at this point.

I think the Japan NT could do with someone with the pace that Inui has.

Saito and Usami both are at least as fast as he is if not probably faster.

Both wings are full of possible players from Usami to Miyaichi (lol), Inui is not a problem but a pity.

Miyachi has nothing to do on a WC team, I pick Inui everyday before him.

hmm, really? I'm not sure about that, could be wrong though. To be fair I think he was the faster (acceleration) player in the JNT.... but we have other fast players, that's for sure. And in form players is what we need

If speed is what they want they should just get Yoshihide Kiryu.

Don't you think that Usami is a faster dribbler than Inui ? And even more skillful.
At WC, I see Usami as a sort of supersub able to dynamite a locked defense (don't know if we'll face to this during WC but it's more cautious to envisage it...) with his great capacity of dribbling, if he's subbed on around the 60'-70'.

    Remember this :D :

I really thought he could make it in B1 after the start that season with Hoffenheim.

I remember that, the problem is what he did 10 other times. I have no doubts about his dribbling quality.
Btw I specifically said acceleration, I am unsure if Usami is faster than Inui per-se, but it's not what anyone cares about when picking a player to WC. Being in form and being good counts.

Then will Usami replace? The AMC position is stacked as hell. Maybe as a striker? And Miyaichi"s pace and acceleration are better than anybody, really should have stayed at Feyenoord to develop for a year. If so, he can geneiunely be a good out-and-out winger.

Oh, I don't doubt that he'll be in good form in may, he looks resurrected since his return at Osaka. If he stays on the same dynamic than last months (even if it was in J2), i don't see any reason to exclude him of the potentials selected. I still hope for him.

His debuts at Hoffeneim were very convincing, I don't know what problems he met later but I can't believe it's due to a lack of consistence.

And he has always been regular in J-League.

The problem with Usami has been that he is (was) very poor off the ball, so if he isn't scoring or creating goals there is zero justification for putting him on the field. He looks ready for J1, the World Cup and probably Europe within another year, but we'll have to see how it plays out.

I agree. That's why I don't see him as a starter. But a good joker (supersub) if we need speed or dribblers to unlock a good defense.

Even if he can't score, he's able to get fouls (which means dangerous FK or even PK) and disorganise or rattle the defence of the opponent (they may be less serene).

At Bayern he never had a chance to begin with (at the time I always wished Heynckes would try him in a central Kagawa-ish role as that's was one area Bayern was severely lacking back then). At Hoffenheim the club went through four managers that season, and the last one went back to nurturing local youth players.

He needs to work more on his defensive contribution imo(pressing, tackling and tracking back, etc.), in this regard, he is weaker than Haraguchi and Kakitani imo.
