Yes, he would be sure to start at least. But some Premier League clubs could need him, I guess.

It's just 6 weeks, not months

Japan should have a good run at wc in order to provide a starting spot for these players again

The one role where nothing should happen, because we're out of options.

Yeah there is no one to replace him and Konno. And Zac is unwilling to try others. He could be injured for 2 months and still start.

    This is simply freightening bad.

But what about Morishige? Isn't him Yoshida natural sub?

Japan plays their match in 79 days. Nautrally though fitness needs to be accounted for.

If he is out for 40-50 days I dont see a problem. If he is out for 60 I can see that presenting an issue

Japan should hold as many friendlies as possible with J-league players. Maybe 5 friendlies with Morishige and maybe Yamashita or Shiotani.

They cant just hold friendlies as much as they want

    1) Leagues are ongoing so players from other countries cannot play for theirs

    2) There are special dates when FIFA allows to set up friendlies you cant just throw them around as you wish

I think Morishige is the natural replacement of Konno.
We have no natural replacement of Yoshida. Yamashita or even Tomisawa could be some solutions.

Well we have only 2 friendlies. Probably the time is not enough. And as I said this is very very bad and reminds me WC 2006 Australia disastrous opening game.

If Yoshida is fit for WC there is no problem at all.

If he is not, we ll talk that then... but as far as we know he ll be so all good

I love that you're so overly satisfied with Japans two CBs.

Seems that Pochettino could leave for Monaco.

    Anyway,
