Un Kawashima une nouvelle fois impérial ce soir! 0 but encaissé lors des deux dernières rencontres. #photonews pic.twitter.com/SRpkyPhsiP— Standard de Liège (@Standard_RSCL) January 24, 2014
did not watch a single game of liege. but was he does not get 1 shot at all ?? really great to see the cleansheet that he had. only if he will be 5 years younger, could be a good for JNT
they are really impressive with some outstanding players. especially in attack 12 goals conceded and 18 clean sheets in 25 matches. Even if it is Belgian League that is just wow
Kawashima "complains" about opponents' low shooting accuracy, saying he needs more training http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20140217-00000027-spnannex-socc
Well, they should secure Champions League football for next season, and Eiji shouldn't have much to complain about with regard to the shooting accuracy of the opposition when the group stages rolls around...
Assuming they do qualify, I hope they hold on to their best players to give themselves a fighting chance - I know some clubs have shown an interest in their talented striker Michy Batshuayi, for example Everton, and Benfica. He says he would prefer a move to the EPL unsurprisingly enough. But hopefully the lure of CL football keeps him at Standard for one more season.
Holding on to sellable players for a glimmer of hope at getting through the CL group stage is a pretty risky proposition for a club like Standard. Look at CSKA coming up empty handed after keeping Honda around...obviously if the player is contracted long term the risk-benefit profile is different, but unless Standard takes a big risk and acquires more players the chances are high that they'll get blown out like Anderlecht this year.
