Bieler has huge international experience in Copa Liba and Copa Sud with LDU.

Not fast, but holds the ball up well and good finisher. Might be a solution to some of those missed chances. Doesn't create his own goals, but finishes off what others create.

Reminds me a lot of Mariano Pavone, ex-Betis and now Cruz Azul. A bull in the box.

When we say "domestic midfielder" I'm assuming we mean from MLS and not "American" (ie. from abroad)?

Feilhaber seems like a move Vermes and ownership would make (even if he really doesn't seem like a Vermes type).

Actually, remember that Vermes and KC were interested in Feilhaber when he came to MLS, they tried to work out a deal with NE.

Well today's, the day. My hope is Borak but realistically probably not.

Donovan requested a trade to SKC to "regain his love of the game". You heard it here first.

    Isn't Feilhaber a Brazillian?

I'd love to have him here though, would make losing Roger sting less.

According to this article, Feilhaber shifted to a somewhat deeper midfield position for New England during the course of this season. Could he be Espinoza's replacement in the box-to-box role? And would Saad have to change numbers again to accommodate yet another former USMNT player?

Likewise, perhaps the Bunbury shirts are on sale because he is giving up #9 for an incoming DP.

I have to admit, out of all the names I've heard so far, Feilhaber is the one that excites me the least. Borak would be awesome, but I think that's a pipe dream.

For my own amusement, here is a list of non-German forward-type players currently playing in Bundesliga that I wouldn't mind acquiring:

    1. Robert Lewandowski (Poland - Dortmund)
    2. Mario Mandzukic (Yugoslavia - Bayern Munich)
    3. Teemu Pukki (Finland - Schalke)
    4. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Netherlands - Schalke)
    5. Erwin Hoffer (Austria - Frankfurt)
    6. Mame Biram Diouf (Senegal - Hannover)
    7. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Cameroon - Mainz)
    8. Artjoms Rudnens (Latvia - Hamburger)
    9. Martin Harnik (Austria - Stuttgart)
    10. Luuk De Jong (Switzerland - Monchengladbach)
    11. Eren Derdiyok (Switzerland - Hoffenheim)
    12. Joselu (Spain - Hoffenheim)
    13. Timo Furuholm (Finland - Dusseldof)
    14. Bas Dast (Netherlands - Wolfsburg)

Is there anything suggesting Borak besides the MLSTransfers tweet (an account definitely run by high schoolers)?

His name is actually Borek (Dockal), and I for one am not getting my hopes up. But I would be glad to have him!

If I heard we picked up Lewandowski I would probably need to buy a new pair of pants. That'd be incredible.

For some reason I'm still really high on picking up David Rodriguez from Sporting Gijon. Seems like he'd be a great add to any MLS club.

Then there's Luis Bolaños of Sport Club Internacional who's been rumored to be an MLS target. Two guys who already play for Sporting Clubs, so they'd be easy transitions to us, right?

I'm a bit underwhelmed by Feilhaber. He would be a decent pick up but I hope we acquire a true number 10. If he is just scratching the surface of who we are acquiring then great.

No, there's absolutely nothing other than that one tweet, when I asked them to provide a source they never responded.

With both Zusi and Feilhaber being able to pull strings in the midfield there won't be a 'true number 10'.

There really wouldn't be a need. Zusi and Feilhaber playing in front of Nagamura or Rossell would make for a splendid attacking midfield.

    Convey - Bieler - Kamara
    Feilhaber - Nagamura - Zusi
    Sinovic - Besler - Collin - Myers
    Nielsen
Bench: Kronberg, Gardner, Olum, Rosell, Joseph, Sapong, Bunbury

Looks pretty solid. Convey, Feilhaber, and Zusi would be effectively interchangeable in this formation, with Kamara also switching sides from time to time.

At this point I think I'll be more surprised if it isn't Feilhaber

Not sure it means much, but on Twitter, Mike Illig is a fairly recent follower of @b_feilhaber22

As I have said in the past, I would love Feilhaber on this team. IMO, he would open up Zusi in the attacking third a little bit more. Lets be honest. Roger was great at winning the ball back, but he wasn't really an attacking threat, which then, its easier to defend Zusi in the attacking third.

    Benny- 1G-2A-2147 mins-2012
    4G-7A-2046 mins-2011

    Roger- 0G-2A-2275mins-2012
    1G-3A-1979mins-2011

Last year Benny was playing straight Defensive mid and didn't get forward that much because the Revs required him so far back on the field. I also like how Benny is a little better on the ball then Roger and can take a little bit more pressure. This will slow the pace down and little, which will help keep the ball at our feet.

If it is Feilhaber, would we have to trade for him since his option was declined and NE still owns his MLS rights?
