Or perhaps because Bunbury jerseys just don't move? His performance this season was a bit disappointing, especially with the massive injury he sustained. Probably a lot easier to drum up sales for Kamara and Sapong and Zusi. That said, wouldn't be surprised if we traded him off. We are looking for new striking options, and that likely would mean trading out some of our current frontmen. I don't see us letting go of Kamara or Zusi unless they switch leagues, and I expect Sapong to stay as well. Saad and Dwyer... who knows. Losing either or both would not kill us up front, though I wouldn't mind them staying. Anyone I'm forgetting? Peterson, right. Keep that guy, please. Ha.
Bunbury's tradability is at it's lowest with the injury there's no guarantee what type of player he'll be when he gets back.
could be as simple as they sold fewer bunbury shirts during the season, and therefore have more in stock. they could also be selling shirts for players who actually played in the last few weeks of the season at a faster rate, now it's the offseason, etc. bunbury would've been a player they would've stocked more inventory for than, say, nagamura. was dwyer looking at a loan deal* to scotland? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20639008 *short term, offseason
Grrr. I've been checking Twitter and this board all day, waiting for a DP announcement. Feeling grumpy now.
I don't think we'll hear today. In good news: Nate Bukaty @nate_bukaty Just heard some great news on the Matt Besler #SKC front. I hear a deal could happen as soon as tonight or tomorrow! Fingers crossed.
Speaking of Nate's twitter, I had to chuckle at this one: Nate Bukaty @nate_bukaty @walkerwj @jakeguti oh, I think a lot more is coming. Stay tuned! Been told they want to COMPETE in the Champions League. #SKC I'm glad he emphasized COMPETE, I was thinking SKC wanted to limp through the group stage.
That is to introduce a new addition. Since Robb said "first," hopefully it will be followed immediately by the announcement of Besler's new contract.
I've had my fingers crossed for Fred for months now. Especially since I caught a game of his where he was sporting a killer porn stache. By the way, that's not even a rumor. That's just personal hopes. KC wants Fred.
Ah, the Lyon Fred, always was surprised he never made it to a bigger club in Europe, he'd be a decent signing, but it's not him.
I thought Robb reported that he was physically in South America, scouting? I guess it is wildly plausible that tomorrow's announcement has nothing to do with that trip. Who would we think plausible or even likely from within MLS ranks?
James has apparently been doing a lot of work tonight trying to find out and seems to think that tomorrow's player announcement won't be Bieler, but a domestic midfielder.
Does well in Ecuador, much quieter in Argentina, it looks like. Though who can say how he was played in there. Looks like he had a beast of a 2009 and had a solid 2012. He's been all the way to second place in the Club World Cup, which is good. FIFA rankings put LDU Quito as the fourth strongest club in CONMEBOL, which is also a plus. Like I said, pretty promising pedigree. I'll hold out judgment for a little while, I suppose. But some experience up front would definitely be good for our young forwards.
