After looking back I realize you are likely right and I wanted to edit and say oops. Couldn't edit though so I am stuck with this rage and $1 beer fueled response after the Crew stunk up the joint.

No spoilers in this post, but Liverpool has kicked off their Europa League campaign with a qualifying match against Gomel, live on FOX Soccer.

It sounds like Christian Miles announcing. I don't know if they're announcing all games from the studio, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are.

(Remember that FOX has the Europa League rights this year.)
    NUFCBayern repped this.

Just saw an ives RT that EPL is starting a u-21 league with 23 teams. Doesn't bode well for MLS signing young players depending on salaries they offer.

I am not sure I see the direct impact this would have.

It'll put a stop to all the young talent that MLS is getting from England

I wonder how that would fit in the other 7 levels of the FA system. Tier 1 a.

I bet a couple of the top u21 teams could give the low epl teams a run for their money.

Not on MLS, no, but Football League clubs should be furious about this.

It may make it harder or more expensive to sign homegrown players who may get more exposure overseas. Might make kids out of high school decide to give it a try in England first instead of entering the draft or go to college. Depends on the foreign rules, we are talking 400+ U21 spots to fill for premier league teams. Has to have an impact on MLS.

Not really. Those 400+ U21 spots are by and large already filled from within clubs' own academies. And unless American kids have an EU passport, they can dream about the Premiership all they want but they're not going to get a look over there.

I suppose it might make it even more difficult for MLS to sign the next Jack Wilshere though. ;)

Everton is having a testimonal match for Tony Hibbert. Tony is still with the club and has appeared 253 (309 in all competitions) times for Everton. He has yet to score a goal for the Toffees. Here is a quote from him about the upcoming game.

'I don't know why everyone is saying I should take a penalty either. It's an easy way of scoring, isn't it? If I'm going to do it, I want it to be a 30-yarder'

    Got to love Tony.

I think both Friedel and Kirovski played in Europe on youth teams as I recall. For them the problem was getting a work permit to play on the senior side. Kirovski was at ManU. I may be wrong about Friedel but Kirovski for sure did this. So you cannot rule this out.

Carzola looks good for the Gunners. They look like the same team as last year. Lots of passing.

    Liverpool losing at half-time.
