Nagatomo going to left wing and getting Konno more forward as he's filling the hole looks nice so far. On the other side Sakai isn't too impressive...

This was a total crap of a play by Japan.

Outclassed, they couldnt keep possession, Oman could, Oman deserved to be at least tied after this half if not leading.

Really couldnt believe what I was watching....

Well I thought that 2nd overhead by Oman cried for yellow, but other than that...

p.s. Honda needs to get the ******** out of Moscow...
plays like an old glory doing charity match.

Right now i could remember only Matthaus doing libero in Euro2000 and Dwight Yorke at WC with Trinidad playing with a slower foot in international football matches...
other than that you have to go to those Czechoslovakian midfielders of the 60's you see on WC history documentaries...

Well I am pissed at them and for a reason. I am having a hard time imagine any of the bigger European countries being so dominated by the likes of Oman

Ah you'll see....Italy was totally dominated by a very weak Bulgaria some months ago...the same team that went to euro finals just weeks before...

and to be honest this Oman it's better than Bulgaria in many ways...

58 min. Maeda collects the ball, keeps possession, resist a charge, gives the ball back to Hasebe...that delivers it to the Omani defender...

Hard to criticise Maeda in a game like this..

If you start comparing these matches (Japan in the Mideast vs Mideast) to how European top teams would do in friendlies against mideast teams... I guess you won't ever be satisfied.

Even if Italy or any other country was dominated like this it would mean the same.
    Horrible play!

Seriously look at this game...Japan is getting sucked in their aggressive run and gun football. They should capitalize on their open spaces in the back with sensible defending and efficient counters

Impossible. Either Nagatomo or Hiroki are being moved to the midfield. If he wanted to defend only he would've put in Takahashi
but yeah, I don't like this stupid insistence of playing without real strikers
