Piniella Joins Giants as Special Assistant - Associated Press
Will he be able to significantly help the Giants?
Only provide counsel--that's it... plus he's working from home in Tampa mostly (needs to be near family)... he does have a lot to offer but really he's not the right mix for the Giants but I'll give him a chance--he has won a couple of World Series titles and has made teams contenders--important to stay the course... He's only with the Giants for the 2011 season--and then he'll play it by ear with the brass...
Now, if he can get Yu Darvish and get rid of Barry Zito for 2012 then keep him on...
