Oh, nice. I was actually in Bangor for the July 12th celebrations. Those fires were huge, and somebody showed me how to open a beer with a lighter. It was lots of fun. Somehow didn't manage to see the Giant's Causeway in the entire month I was there, though...my only regret.

Haha nice! I'm actually from Bangor myself although I know live in Ballymena up North, Bangor is a wonderful town. That trick with the lighter is absolutely invaluable btw I've used it every weekend I think since 2009 lol.

Oh and about the Giants causeway its not that great, you should have gone to the folk and transport museuem and carrickfergus castle if you wanted something to do. did you see any football while you where here?

No, I repeatedly asked, but it being 2007 everybody told me about the recent win over England and pointed out that their season doesn't run in July...it was lame. I also saw a lot of brand new Beckham Galaxy jerseys and Spurs fans in Bangor, though.

I went around the country a little, I guess, I spent most of my time in Bangor, went and saw some mountains in Newcastle, went to Belfast a few times (got a George Best memoriam jersey from the visitor's centre), and generally just went out drinking. For the life of me, I cannot understand why everyone in Bangor thought this club called "café" was the absolute greatest thing ever. There were some nice pubs though, and the seafood was excellent.

I did manage to go to the Eddie Irvine sports thing, and did some go-karting and paintball. In fact, the minisoccer fields there looked like fun, but there were only three of us.

Also saw the Culloden(I think?) hotel in Holywood and drove a Land Rover around a castle, which was awesome.

Cafe Ceol is a good wee spot, its nothing special but the punters are nice enough, Belfast is where it's at for all that caper though. Its a shame you never got to see any football the atmosphere at a glentoran linfield match is electric. oh and did you get to try harp while you where there? Best beer in the world IMO

Poor George Best. What a sad waste of a brilliant talent.

Now, to get back to our topic of the NCC.

.... and fella's, while I have enjoyed the tourism chat re Ireland, you might want to continue it via PM's thanks. :)

Boring! The epic flamewar between Miro and moaca was the most entertaining I've ever seen. Great stuff.

Matchday 1 of the NCC will be Wednesday, but it will be simultaneous, not a doubleheader. Poor scheduling, IMO. We should be able to watch both matches live instead of 1 live and 1 delayed.
