Coo Coo Ca Choo - I am the Walrus. Well the old coach has his work cut out in the Ivy. A 90-day search and CU could likely have hired Farmer in February or early March... does this seem odd to anyone else?

Any ideas who is still in the mix at UNLV now? Likely last job of the year with timing etc. Even if they do go with a current hc?

I did fail to mention Francis Marion. My mistake! That said though those jobs need to be filled soon...Spring seasons are almost (if not already) over. Creates some weird dynamics for players and coaches if someone comes in when all the kids are about to head or have headed home for the summer. You'd think timing is becoming even more critical. Francis Marion classes end on the 23rd. UNLV on the 30th...

I think it's going to be handed straight over to the assistant without it officially opening up.

Like I said a month or so ago, Cornell hired Farmer. Be will work extremely hard on the recruiting trail but he better bring in a top asst coach.

He is from up there and did great at Ithaca and penn state.

    Only time will tell

I'm guessing that the current staff will stay on, at least for the next season?

Here was my list back on November 1st that I posted and with the little research I did (past 3-4yrs results, RPI & prestige) it was pretty accurate.

    HOT
    St. Louis - New HC
    Oklahoma - New HC
Iowa State - 1st job open in 2012.
Indiana - Feel good story about HC, but winning games?
Southern Miss - Avg. 4 wins a season
    Cornell - New HC
    TCU - New HC
Arizona - Might go winless in PAC 12
Oregon - Only win in PAC 12 will be over Arizona
American - How long do they rebuild for?

    WARM
Stony Brook - Hot Seat 2012
    George Washington - New HC
    Texas - New HC
    Villanova - Hot Seat 2012
    Purdue - Hot Seat 2012
    Marshall - Hot Seat 2012
    UC Riverside - New HC
    Columbia - Hot Seat 2012
    Princeton - Hot Seat 2012
    Northern Illinois - New HC
Boise State - Hot Seat 2012
    USC - Hot Seat 2012
    Bucknell - Hot Seat 2012
    Arkansas - New HC
    LMU - New HC

After a recent discussion, I would add Ole Miss to your "Warm - 2012" list.

For Hot Seat 2012: Tennessee Tech

    Warm: Murray State

Did Miss. State and UT- Chatt. buy some more years with the W's acheived from last year?

I really don't follow all of the hiring/firing machinations that much, but what's the theory here? With the spring season finished, is there any pressure to do something quickly? The 2012 class is all set. The 2013s can wait to see what happens and still have plenty of time to change their minds. It's going to be a tough row to hoe for the next 4-5 seasons to rebuild the program anyway, so taking their time to get the best possible candidate would make sense.

This shouldn't be a major rebuild for SMU, provided the AD brings in a talented women's coach. The pieces are (mostly) in place, assuming the incoming class stays intact. Say what you will about him, Erwin is a skilled recruiter and SMU has some good players on the roster. I actually believe that's why he got kicked downstairs because his teams consistently underperformed and some of the top players quit or transferred every single year. You can only blame the prior coaching staff and the inherited players for so long before your own shortcomings become evident. He never figured out that 'coaching' women by intimidation and verbal abuse is most always counterproductive.

Pete Pososki apparently has left Virginia Tech after one season as assistant. Anyone know where he migrated to?
