I would say, quite a bit, not enormous though. Perhaps more so over this weekend. I posted the CNN article (which was fair to both sides) and the Yahoo front page always seems to offer a USA link.

Disappointing is BBC Worldwide where you would think it all finished last weekend when England were dumped.

Here is a new Goal.com article written by amateurs, but quite good -

Well I'm not surprised about BBC world or anywhere really other than the host and participating nations and Japan would've been the same without participation so no surprise there but I just wanted to know where the US stand in women's football becaus a lot has been said about how they lead the way in woemn's football etc yet it might just be the media banging on about it with not much happening on the ground which is what I would expect. For instance in the big channel's main evening news like CNN Fox or ABC or whatever tonight will it be mentioned at all I wonder. Online and off peak chitty chatty happens anywhere especially on sports channels etc but thats niche.

Now I am told that those authors may have posted on BigSoccer, and borrowed some of their ideas for the article. Is it possible ?

Anyway, from the JFA site (which is Pink not Blue today), here is a more official article in which Sasaki .....

“Conditioning will be an important factor in the days ahead of the final,” said Sasaki, who is known for hard training even on match days.
“I have made them train hard in order to reach the top level in the world and play well in the knockout stage of the world championship. Our players may not be happy with the hard training, but they never stop running even in the second half. That was seen in the game against Germany.”

Same lineup for Japan as the Sweden match.

Rapinoe starts instead of Rodriguez for US. Rapinoe on the left and Cheney will prob play behind Wambach.

JFA TV has a few new videos. One showing Kaihori speak - is she nervous ? Kinga does not seem to be.

Another shows the team being received by Japanese fans in Germany, and there are huge cakes for the birthday girls, Yuki and Kozue. I was hoping they wouldnt actually eat them, but they did ?

I think it would be disastrous for me to understand what my paramours are actually saying. Or perhaps it would help, seeing as no-one who understand Japanese is as crazy about them.

    Anyway, time for ESPN, so,

    GOOD LUCK Nadeshiko Japan

Win or Lose I know I am going to Cryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :rolleyes:

:D Some Nadeshiko players made a Excile's Choochoo-dance in front of the camera, I saw Iwashimizu there.

This is nothing against Japanese women's football rather the Americans, but

I turned on the game. The announcer is explaining football using basketball terms.

    I turn the tv off.

Does anyone have a Japanese stream?

I dont think much of the USA, but most of the Japan team seems terrified. Some bad pssing, and Sawa has to do everything. Its a miracle that is 0-0. For some reason Kinga has forgotten how to play.

Well actually Japan could even be ahead, thanks to the fantastic Ohno. But Ando seemed amazed to finally get two reasonable chances on goal, and made nothing out of them. She plays better shen she is deep in MF, knows how to turn the USA around a bit.

Complete bag of nerves, Sasaki intercepted them at half-time. I suspect not happy.

Hope is that the US gets tired... or, as they are probably the most athletic team, just less focused. Otherwise I am sure one of those chances is going in.

Ando used to be a winger, not a DM?

I think Ohno came a bit more into the game the last 10 mins or so, but dont think she was that great prior to that. Same with Miyama, we need to get the wingers more involved. And stick with Kawasumi and Ando up front!

It reminds me of the Germany-match, a bit.

However, I think it's time for Nagasato to come in...
