Me too. I think that 5-0 loss to Germany might have ultimately been good for them.

There will be a game on 18th or 19th December as well in the Brazilian tournament - either a 3rd place match or the final. Might even be 2 consecutive matches againt Brazil.

Seems like FIFA is damning Canada with faint praise…the way it reads to me they’re saying Canada beat Mexico in the group game because of 2 Mexican goaltending errors and in the final because Mexico was too tired. They could have simply said Canada beat Mexico twice with a combined 4 g/f and 0g/a. And that overall Canada went through the tournament undefeated with 17g/f and 0g/a.

Canada did not play the US.

I know what you're going to say. Team A beats Team B. Team C beats Team A therefore Team C is better than Team B. But it doesn't always work that way in football. The result in one of those semifinals was clearly against the run of play and there were some other "variables" involved. Otherwise Switzerland is better than the Netherlands, Germany, and all the other teams Spain beat this summer.

USA had a lot of problems to beat Italy,so if they keep heading this wrong direction, after few more years they won't beat anybody.
