    That's not exactly an announcement.

They typically announce the new players in conjunction with the preseason preview in August, right?

    No.

In 2008 they announced the recruits in April.

A year later, the first recruiting announcement from Creighton was in February.

Last year was kind of messed up because of the late coaching change. But Elmar has been there since early February and he's had plenty of time to get this done. Hell, some of the new recruits are already on campus after graduating early.

No excuse for this not to be done already.

    I stand corrected.

Although I don't necessarily think this is nearly as big a deal as you do, I do admire your dedication to this every year.

Complete speculation but Im thinking Midfielder Robbie Lovejoy will be joining the Jays as the mystery UNC transfer.

Actually I see Lovejoy has played in some UNC spring games, it could be Crisitan Alphonso. Def/Mid freshman.

JAys should be very strong in 2011 with all offensive cast returniing and Duran back as 5th year senior. Will new coach keep the same approach to the play, as J. Clark did with the positives that marked last years team?

Jays will clash with Akron in the pre season - should be exciting.

What does the early pre-season top 10 look like? I would think the loaded Jays with the new coach will be planted in the top 10. Ready for action.

Elmars teams have played a 4-4-2. They're very tough to score on. Past few seasons they have gotten better at possession soccer. I think this had a lot do with adding Carlos at UNC. His teams are known for defense. Often times boring to watch. They seemed to play less long ball than they use to in the past. Don't expect to score much. His approach is conservative. Despite his national title. His teams usually come up short against the highly ranked ones. He struggled to beat Maryland, UVA, Wake. I doubt Creighton plays those kind of teams in conference though.

Four straight final fours so they have beaten someone.

It was his 3rd not 4th. He's only made 4 in his 20+ years of coaching.

They scored a total of 2 goals to make the college cup.

He wasnt that great of a coach at UNC.

Does he remember what it's like to really have to recruit kids? He didn't really have to do that at UNC.

    I'll respectfully disagree.

There's only one active coach with more final four appearances than Bolowich (Sasho Cirovski, with 6).

There are only three others with four Final Fours - Dave Masur, Jay Vidovich and Bret Simon and, unlike Bolowich, Simon hasn't won a national title.

So, of the 200-plus coaches in D-1 men's college soccer, Bolowich is among the most accomplished.

Could his teams be more exciting? Perhaps, though most college coaches could play better soccer. Has he underachieved some years? Yes, but most college coaches have.

There are legit criticisms of Bolowich but to suggest he hasn't been a successful college coach is just wrong.

COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS 2011 Pre-season Poll:

    6. Creighton –
New Bluejay head coach Elmar Bolovwich, who directed North Carolina to the Final Four for the past three seasons, will seek to keep his string alive at Creighton. The Bluejays should be very good this year. Some have even suggested that they might win it all. That might be a stretch but then again maybe not. Eight starters are back including senior forward Ethan Finley (15g, 4a) who was the MVC Player of the Year and sophomore defender Tyler Polak who was the MVC Freshman of the Year return. The Bluejays return a dynamic midfield that includes Jose Gomez (5g, 9a), Greg Jordan (3g, 3a), Kris Clark (4g, 5a) and Dion Acoff (1g, 10a). Senior Jace Peters also returns in the back and talented senior Brian Holt, who holds the school record for career shutouts, is among the best netminders in the country.

    8. Creighton 0-0-0 It was a tumultuous off-season in the front office for the Blue Jays with Jamie Clark exiting after one season and the introduction of former UNC coach Elmar Bolowich. It should not take long for Bolowich to mold this team in accordance with his system. Next game: @ Denver, August 27
