Olimpia stole an away goal on a corner kick...but Santos clearly the better team on the field.

    Morelia 5-0 Tempete (Haiti) FT

They'll also play the 2nd leg in Morelia because Tempete don't have a stadium up to FIFA standards (I think that's the reason).

They would've played in Port-au-Prince, but the post-earthquake repairs on the stadium aren't done yet, so CONCACAF made an exception instead of kicking Tempete out of the competition.

And although facing up to a much better team that would be the favorite at home against just about every non-Mexican team in this tournament, I'm proud of how Tempete played this game - trying to actually play futbol.
    1 people repped this.

Hey everyone, first time poster(I just found this site -- don't hit me!)

Anyways, just wanted to comment on why it's even called CCL, isn't this really just last season's Liguilla replayed?

I mean, Mexican clubs are only eliminated by other Mexican clubs and a Mexican club always wins the CCL. So it doesn't appear to be a continental championship at al.

Think of it as community service...kinda like how the UEFA Champions League and Libertadores winners saw the semifinal matches in the Mundial de clubes, until last year anyways. :D

Not a good 1st day. I can't believe Mexican clubs still don't know that what happened during the 2nd CCL (when not only did Mexican teams ended up being the final four but they steamrolled thru the groups with their bench) was a fluke and that it normally isn't easy especially with shitty squads. Everyone bitches who they set us up last time to elimnate ourselves but forget that it was done by our own screw ups and this line of thinking.

It's like when the 40 year old virgin loses his virginity to a 500lb girl. You might not still be a virgin but you still suck.

shit is wack as fuk......I'm not a Pumas fan by any means but I can't help but feel pissed off about this......overconfidence? not giving a shit? this was bound to happen?

    I don't know.

MFL is better than the MLS however, sending your kids against a full dallas squad was a pretty stupid ass move.

at least they only lost 1-0 on a lucky bounce to boot.

it was bound to happen especially when a squad lines up a u20 squad.
