Whether Perisic "leaves" or stays is not up to Perisic.

Dude, if we go into that match against them with this five point lead, they can beat us 20-0 and it won't matter.

Not as long as we win the rest of our matches.

That's the point. As long as we keep finding ways not to drop points, we're fine.

But my next post will tell you why I'm worried about that........

I just finished watching the match.

I loved the play of Piszczek, Kagawa and Gündogan today.

Unlike some I saw earlier, I had no problem with Kehl's play. Not great, but no problem with his play.

Right now we remind me of our CL form and form of the first seven weeks of the Bundesliga.

We're working hard and "looking good."

However, we're just freakin' ineffective as all hell right now.

Just in the first 60 minutes, I saw three "breaks" Werder had which a better team makes us pay for.

It really reminds me of how we looked in Europe.

Nice to the eye, but ineffective as all hell.

And ineffective teams are eventually made to pay.

I hope we find our effectiveness again before we're made to pay........

I know that is going to go down with many of as "criticizing the team."

So be it. That's what I saw in this match today.

We're lucky we played two relatively poor opponents these past two weeks or this streak would be over.

And while some are falling all over themselves about this streak someone remind me of something.

How many extra points do we get for it?? What trophy do we get for it??

I think the same as Bayern gets for scoring six or seven goals in a match right??

It is a nice stat and shows our consistency. But if we don't get the job done between now and the final match, for me it means absolutely nothing.

Who celebrates after the matches are over on May 5th is what matters.

And if that club and fan base isn't us, then for me, this streak doesn't mean a freakin' thing.

The main thing today is we got the job done. As long as we keep getting the job done, we'll be OK.

I will not say we are not going to keep getting the job done. Damned straight I hope we do.

However, I would not be honest if I did not say I didn't see a thing today which made me feel like we're going to keep doing that.

But I also didn't see anything which makes me lose any hope.

For me, the huge question I am certain no one else wants to touch is this one:

"Can we keep being so ineffective and still keep getting the job done?"

We need find the effectiveness again.

We're still in decent "form", but we just aren't "crisp."

I see the purpose, but it seems to be just not enough to be effective.

    Just like in the CL......

I suppose you are right as Perisic is not a top class player who can force his way out..Usually when a big club wants a top class player they get him..

Lucas Barrios is. Tried to force his way out.

    Didn't happen.

BVB didn't pay as much as they did for Perisic to give up on him after one season whether he wants to give up on BVB or not.

Perisic has to be patient. And learn to be better on the defensive side.

I think he'll wind up being fine. Right now, he's being selfish.

And that is not always a bad thing.

agree with Perisic being selfish. Players have unrealistic expectations nowadays and can't appropriate the time it takes for a collective to be successful. He needs to be patient. I'm certain he played exactly the role Klopp laid out to him at the beginning of the season and he's done well.

He should acknowledge that he can't immediately replace Grosskreutz who is there for very good reason and that competition is good among such a talented side. I'm sure someone like Gündogan has handled his situation perfectly and he will be rewarded for it.

Perisic's eagerness to play is charming but at this point in the campaign he's even less likely to get a starting place when it's so crucial to wrap up the points week in, week out. The best he can do is continually impress in training and when he gets chances and that's it. I believe Klopp to be a man of his word so if he promised him he'll be part of this side going forward, I'm sure he means it.

My Comments: I would have rated Piszczek a “2.” Grosskreutz would have gotten a “5” from me. How Klopp waited nearly 75 minutes to get Perisic in there is beyond me. Strangely enough, I agree with the other ratings. I don’t normally with “Bild.” Gündogan was my “Man of the Match.” After him, it would have been Werder central defender Sokratis.

    Coaches’ Comments:

    Jürgen Klopp:
"I can only criticize the fact we left opportunities wanting. We left the match open too long. We were not able to secure it (the match) before the end. I was very pleased with the performance. We were super alert.”

Thomas Schaaf: “I am disappointed, but there is absolutely no disputing Dortmund’s victory was deserved. We showed more courage and confidence in the second half and the team must be praised for this. It was cool and fun.”
