    Good! They listened to us!

I never go back to check.

    Someone probably mentioned it before.

Thanks for all the flowers re Slomka, guys. Very happy to have him.

But we burned through Rangnick, too, so I think the club leadership matured, and getting (and keeping) Schmadtke played a big part, too. Oh, and not being relegated two years ago obviously, which was a lot of hard work, but also some luck.

I hope we can consolidate in the EL ranks, but for now our budget is much smaller than the budget of many clubs behind us. Oh, and we are playing Liège, not Twente.

Good information. I never really think much about Schmadtke's role. Thanks!

And our budget is much smaller than Bayern's.

But you see what has been happening the last two seasons there.......

    Coaches’ Comments:

    Jürgen Klopp:
"It was a very good game for us. That this match was not decided earlier was down to us. I thought our response to our personnel issues was impressive. It was extraordinary. Bayern München’s 2-0 vicotry did not either surprise us or concern us. For us, it was not relevant. There are still 11 matches to be played and 33 points to be won. We must continue to play (this way) against the better teams. The talk surrounding the title does not interest us.”

Mirko Slomka: “Borussia Dortmund’s victory was deserved. In the first half, we could not establish ourselves up front. It was not enough. We rallied the team at halftime and took full risk. In the second half, we played a great match. My players gave it all they had in the second half and played passionate football. It was great! We could have tied the match 2-2, but we were not rewarded for our good performance. At least not in the second half.”

    Mein BVB here I come!!

Where is the commentary for the matches from?

By the way, my MoM was Kagawa.

Also, Chris Löwe has awesome ball skills - just like Kagawa. You can tell just by watching the warmups.

Well I should have said "going by the warmups and the half-time kickaround".

I was trying to figure out who the "#10" was, and then I checked the subs again and the only one it could have been was Löwe. Unless I'm totally mistaken, the guy really has an excellent touch and feel for the ball.

And I haven't watched the game again, but Kagawa was vital because he linked everything together and made those little passes just a half second before the hannover defence could read them. He brought the touch of fantasy to the play. That's why he's my MoM.

For 96: The Kicker grades are much more like it. The Bild grades maybe apply to HT1, but in HT2 we did fight quite well.

For sure. You guys played great in the second half. Didier Ya Konan's goal was excellent and there were numerous other opportunities as well. We're fortunate that Hannover didn't punish us for our missed opportunities.

after our second goal the match was very even and the people nearby and I were as afraid of a draw as a third goal for us.

And you do know how a player looks in "warmups" doesn't translate to field situations, right???

If "warmups" or "half-time kickaround(s)" meant anything, Denilson would have been the greatest player who ever lived.

OK. I still don't agree, but of course, will respect your opinion.

    That's true

But, and I'm just sayin; for the guys who started on sunday, it mirrored what they are like on the field. Kagawa had the smoothest touch and was the easiest on the ball, lewy was second, bender was better than kehl, etc

Let's see what I feel like if I get the chance to watch this match before the weekend. For now - Kagawa took us out of the "predictable" and made chances for us. His passes led directly to or were one pass away from all our big misses in the first half and maybe the second. And without him, hannover would have had more control over the play than us.

    Who was your MoM?

And there are quite a few more important things which make them a great TEAM.

I just don't think you take him away and all of a sudden, that stops. Sure, Kagawa is important, but again, this is a TEAM thing.

Who was MoM to me? Lewandowski of course.

The man whose actions were of consequence.

When I read what you're writing, I think you're more concered with a bit of "flash."

Hell, like kicker, I had all three members of the "Polish Contingent" ahead of Kagawa.

I wonder if someone's wife made lunch for them before the match? They kicked a$$! :D

    of course

With the squad yesterday after Bender going off, I think it would have been reduced quite a bit.

Is perisic that good in that way? I think he's more of a direct player.

    on the wife part?

It's not flash that i'm talking about...it's the subtlety and touches that kagawa brought. It was really effective.

One part of that was his final or before-the-final passes for those big chances we missed.

But the three poles were really good too, in mainly different ways to kagawa.

Chris Loewe has impressed me a lot in the 4-5 games I've seen of him. He looks like a really natural player going forward so it is not really surprising that squid has been impressed with his technical abilities. He is a brilliant crosser of the ball. When he plays, he usually takes the free kicks and corners. Klopp prefers Schmelzer but Loewe is a good player. Maybe he is not very good defensively but he did not look disastrous to me in that aspect of his game. There are players who cover well for him. He is a hard worker too like Schmelzer. If he is given a good run in the first team, I think he can take the chance with both hands. At least for me, he hasnt looked out of place in the Bundesliga and in a good team like Dortmund.

No, but Klopp could have gone with Gündogan in the center and da Silva or Hummels at the six.

Attacking midfield is Gündogan's natural position. So many people don't realize BVB has been forcing him to play a position he's never played before.

I implied that some good, homemade Polish cooking had them playing so well.

Are these just your thoughts or somehow in reply to my comments?

If it is the latter, I need to clarify something.

My words were not meant to somehow show that I don't believe Chris Löwe is a good player.

On the contrary. I believe he is a good player. Just not for the reasons squid was talking about.

The things squid was talking about won't get Löwe far in Dortmund. They will be a help, but it is his overall game, more the defensive side, that will get him ahead with us.

As you stated, we've really only had four or five matches to see him in. We cannot tell which way he is going to go.

However, I do think Chris Löwe is a good, young player with loads of potential.

I believe he is a player who may well play a major role in Borussia Dortmund's future.
