Those of you who were hating on Newcastle because they had Joey Barton on the books, can now love 'em. Barton is on his way to QPR for 4 years on a free.
Now Barton and Warnock can go on a killing spree together. A match made somewhere south of heaven (yet north of the Thames, oddly...)
Schalke looked really, really good last night after stinking up the joint in Helsinki. Hannover did what they had to do--not pretty but effective. 12 yellows (one was a second) in that game.
No offense to either Wolves or Aston Villa but this game sums up the Premier League. You have about 6 teams that want to win and the remaining 14 that don't want to lose. This is meant to be a local derby, passion, pride, tackles flying in from all angles, crowd noise, cards, goals etc. The first half was a non event.
wow just announced that Villa are 12k below their capacity today. No idea if that is representative of their usual average, seems surprising to me though.
I think you might be able to make a case for Germany not being that way. You've got Bayern, followed by about 3/4 of the league that could do something to surprise everyone and win the league. See Wolfsburg a few years ago.
Are you kidding? This is Villa, at home, fighting for their lives against a team on top of the table. They would clearly be satisfied with a draw
it seemed like when they took n'zogbia they went a little flat - I would have kept him on. of course my opinion has nothing to do with n'zogbia being in my fantasy team.
Get out of there while you can. Pretty soon you'll start wearing moldy orange and become a total asshole.
It's the annual West Midlands shuffle. Wolves, Baggies, and Brummies. One comes up from the Champ, one stays up by the skin of their teeth, and one goes down. Happens every year. The only constant is Villa.
That was pretty bad. He was out cold mid-fall and landed like a dead-weight-plank on his face. I don't understand how GK's get away with punching people in the face. His eventual sending off was a bit harsh on the penalty, but ultimately justice was probably done.
3 matches in, and I'm not that impressed with Chelsea. I have hard time not thinking that if they had played a higher class than Stoke, Newcastle, and Norwich they'd have dropped more than 2 points.
I agree, although they are breaking in a new coach and a few new players. I expect them to hit their stride in a couple of weeks.
BIG 4 (5*): -Liverpool could take league this year. -Chelsea is looking bad, if drogba is out long I'd be scared of them missing the fourth spot in the long run. -Arsenal isn't looking great. The fabregas thing just made it even more difficult. -ManU looking like ManU. *-Man City- haven't watched a match yet (except Community Shield), and haven't played any strong opponent yet. we'll see how they do with spurs tomorow
