If only I could be so confident. It's a long season and Real Madrid have a great squad. Besides, Cesc might have been one of the best players in the Premiership, but he'll have to fight for a starting spot on Barca's squad.

Who broadcasts the Europa League games again? Is that FSC+ too?

    I don't see them on FSC's schedule.

Used to be GolTV, but I think DirecTV has dedicated channels - they did back when I was a subscriber.

I know we have at least one everton fan and one leicester fan so..

1418: FOOTBALL: BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Leicester are interested in Jermaine Beckford but am informed Everton have - so far - received nothing more than an inquiry from Sven. Not to say Leicester won't make a formal bid - & can certainly see Beckford getting goals in Championship but Everton light on strikers."

Nothing more than rumour, but generally the BBC writers don't post stuff unless there is something in it.

I don't get why Beckford would leave Leeds when they were going to be promoted to the Championship for Everton and then go back down to Leicester after a little over a year.

another rumor was Sven was interested in Anichebe. He wanted Yakubu but the YAK wouldn't lower his wages to make the move.

Depending on the amount I would be ok with Beckford going. We got him on a free anyways.

If Everton is light on strikers, why would the part with him? I can't imagine they would receive enough from Leicester to make a significant, Prem-level signing, and everyone knows they have basically nothing in the coffers for transfers right now.

I wonder if Beckford is good enough for the prem to be honest. I did not see much of him last season though to really comment on it.

He scored 8 goals last season in the EPL (not a bad return). He should have had 13 as he missed a handful of sitters. He should be a double digits scorer as now he has a season of experience. He has had problems with Moyes but nobody tells Moyes how it is. At his age (27) and his contract (3? years left) he is worth a lot more than a few million.

    If....
    Yobo
    Yak
...both sell then you will see Everton in the market for a player or 2

According to the local rag we have been told to increase our bid of 3 million.

Everton is two players away from a T-4 fight.
A 20 goal scorer and a winger (left or right)

Problem is that describes a lot of teams, so everyone is looking for those kind of pieces. Second problem is that those other teams looking have more money.

If the starting 11-13 stay healthy and Moyes finds so lower league diamond again Everton will challenge this year!

If Everton start the season well they could be up there. Why do they seem to start so slowly?

Finding a winger is not that hard but a 20 goal a season striker. Those don't come cheap.

We have Vaughn and Pienaar money plus Yobo and Yak if they sell. We are looking around 10 million.

Europa is where we should be. Also, we have a very thin squad and injuries have been a problem every season. We missed like the 5th most games of any EPL team last year from injury.

US captain Carlos Bocanegra signs with Rangers from Saint-Etienne for 3 years. Joins Maurice Edu and Alejandro Bedoya at Ibrox as Rangers attempt to displace Fulham as the record holder for most Americans on their squad at once.

Barca-Real Madrid Supercopa games were awesome. WTF was Marcelo thinking at the end of today's game (and Mourinho at that)? I suggest that he wasn't.

:) I've retired from Old Firm. Too much idiocy and stupidity from people on both side. If I ever watch Scottish football again I'll probably cheer for Dundee or Kilmarnock and eschew the Old Firm altogether.
