Look! It's two of the biggest haters in here!

Drogba's on the field accomplishments stand for themselves. His off the field contributions to society make him a transcendent figure in sport. You can hate on him for drawing fouls or for the fact that he is a Chelsea player but you can't deny his place in history.

Was he wrong? That was a f*cking disgrace. You should be giving him props for not being PC.

If that's all you got, you lose.

Little Brad released by Villa. I'd say he could probably start for a lower level BPL side, but Villa is now a lower level BPL side. Maybe he'll find a home in the Championship or elsewhere in Europe.

Face it, Drogba is a legend in your own mind. He is a great player, but I can name plenty of players better than him right now.

Should I post videos of Messi diving? CR? Diving is a part of modern football. You can hardly take away from what a player has done because he goes down easily. If you feel you can take away from Drogba for it, show me a legendary player in the modern game that didn't do it.

    Until then, FAIL.

They got stuck financially, West Ham Style (under Icelandic management), with outrageous wage structures for the type of talent they have. With their spending they should be competing for Europe, easily. It didn't really pan out as thought. So they are forced to unload all their best players and try to piecemeal it with signings that really don't help the team. It could be a bumpy ride next season.

What is a FAIL is you acting like a little whiny baby because we got people who don't think that highly of Drogba in the grand scheme of soccer. Get over it, you little whiny baby.

What a legend by costing your team a CL title because you had to slap like a girl. A legend mind you.

If they were Bayern, they would.... Just joking, but I remember the Inter/Gladbach mess. If it had been the other way around, Inter never would have had to play a neutral site game. I'm still not sure the whole thing wasn't faked by Inter's keeper. I am expecting Fortuna to get in big trouble and pay massive fines and perhaps face a point deduction for this or have to play a home match behind closed doors.

So you lose a debate and start calling me names? Nice.

If you remember, in the latest video you posted, Terry missed a PK that would have won it. You can blame DD for getting the red, and it wasn't smart by any stretch, but if Terry doesn't slip Chelsea still wins.

Maybe someday your Hammers can play in Europe. But I doubt it.

I am on the fence. I am not sure if he is a legend. He is certainly one of the best Premier League players since the inception of the competition, so I guess that could translate to "the modern game". I mean seriously, his last game for Chelsea showed how and why he should be considered one of the best. So I agree, a Chelsea legend, and possibly an EPL legend, but I look for more out of a soccer legend. He might be hampered by being born in the wrong country as I am sure if he was Brazilian, Spanish, Italian etc etc he would have made a bigger impact on the world stage.

However he certainly made as big an impact in England and in Europe as he possibly could.

FYI, for those posting "evidence" that Drogba is not a legend because of various antics, Maradona is hardly a saint, and yet I think most would consider him to be a legend of the game.

Count me as a hater as well then because he is not a legend of the sport. I have a much higher standard of player for that group. He doesn't meet it. You act like that is some how an insult. He is a heck of a player and a legend at Chelsea.

Nice try with that Hammers jibe. At least I don't act like you about the Hammers standing in the grand scheme of soccer. Let me know how Drogba the Flopper is better than Pele. I could use another laugh. Nothing better than winding up someone like you getting all insulted about something irrelevant.

I never said he was better than so-and-so and if you think this is wound-up, check the Joe Pa thread:D.

What would be your qualifications to become a legend of the game? Show me on and off the field stuff, big game performances over an extended period, good in the community, you know, like Drogba. I think he's a legend, prove why he isn't.

The hits just keep coming.... Legends don't choke in a final to blow a PK that prevented Cote d'Ivoire from winning its first cup......Legend of a choke job.....Legend of a meltdown......Legend of diving.....and so on

Add me to the list of people who don't think he's a legend of the game.

He's a Chelsea legend. He's a Premier League legend, probably. One of the best players of the 21st century? Absolutely. But a soccer legend? "Legend" is a pretty strong word.

Lot's of players hit those same category. The one I add that disqualifies Drogba and 99% of other soccer players is they changed how the game is played/rewrote how certain roles are performed. The second part of that is winning a huge amount of personal and team awards. Such as FIFA Player of the Year.

A few players I consider legends.
Johan Cruyff- Help change the game in multiple ways
    Pele-Won everything possible multiple times
Beckenbauer- Won WC as a player and coach.
Zidane- 3x World Player of the Year and WC winner.

These are just a few examples. I am sorry but Drogba is not is this class.

And, in Beckenbauer's case, he defined a position. Drogba. I don't really care one way or the other--though maybe that says something.

Yeah, I can see them facing a home match behind closed doors. Point deduction? Small chance, but it could happen. Hertha should have a "Geisterspiel" as well, as their traveling moron fans threw flares onto the field in the first place...
