Sung to the great shanty "What should we do with the drunken sailor?" What should we do with the Revolution, What should we do with the Revolution, What should we do with the Revolution, So early in the morning. Score a goal and stuff the Sounders (or visiting side), Score a goal and stuff the Sounders, Score a goal and stuff the Sounders, So early in the morning. Way, Hey, and up she rises, Way, Hey, and up she rises, Way, Hey, and up she rises, REVOLUTION. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulWXvzL6nuA"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulWXvzL6nuA[/ame]

I've been thinking of song/chants based on military style cadences in the vein of "Mama Mama." Here is one done to the tune of the Marine cadence "Give Me That Old Marine Corps Spirit": http://marinedevildog.com/mclinks/cadences/Give Me That Old Marine Corps Spirit.mp3 ---------------------------------- 1. Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) 2. It was good for Paul Revere (Reply) It was good for Samuel Adams (Reply) It was good for Benjamin Franklin (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) 3. It was good for the Rev Army (Reply) It was good for the Midnight Riders (Reply) It was good for the Rebellion (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) 4. It was good at Foxboro Stadium (Reply) It was good in Section 2 (Reply) It was good in 1-4-3 (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) 5. It was good for Taylor Twellman (Reply) It was good for Matt Reis (Reply) It was good for Stevie Nicol (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) 6. Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) Give me that old New England spirit (Reply) And it's good enough for me (Reply) ---------------------------- Thoughts? Keep in mind that this is just a stab at lyrics, from someone who is not a long time Revs fan, so if anybody has more appropriate suggestions, speak up.
May I propose, to the tune of The Army Goes Rolling Along We're the Revs and we'll fight, till we see the morning light Revolution are marching along We are brave, we are strong, and we sing our mighty song Revolution are marching along Well, it's hi-hi-hay! Revolution on the way Call out our numbers, proud and strong! (Two-three) Till the 'night see it's last Ride And Rebels, Army out of Pride Revolution are marching along (Keep it Going!) Revolution are marching Along!! [insert Thundercats-esque Whoa]
Saw this while surfing Youtube....thought it could be something we could use at the games: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQywmNxCd8E"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQywmNxCd8E[/ame] We could switch it around to be Revs related. I... I believe... I believe the... I believe the Revs... I believe the Revs will... I believe the Revs will win. (While clapping) I believe the Revs will win. I believe the Revs will win. I believe the Revs will win. I believe the Revs will win.
Northeastern hockey picked up this cheer this season (I believe) as well. Like "we" as opposed to "I". I really like this one - the only change I could see making is swapping out Reis and Nicol for some other players from the Revs past. Like the mention of Twellman.
As you know, I just went with names which I'm somewhat familiar. Obviously the long time fans could come up with more appropriate selections.
FCD have also picked this one up. I was at MLS Cup and they had it simply go: I... I Believe... I Believe In... I Believe In FCD, I Believe In FCD, I Believe In FCD, ect
Red Bull did this on Friday. It's one of my favorite chants after hearing it at the USA v Paraguay game in Nashville. During the initial call and responses you have everyone duck down/get as low as they can, then when everyone joins in on the song, everyone hops up with arms around shoulders and bounces around. It's awesome.
All eyes were closed, nobody knows How the world wasn't able to see that they were Washed-up failures My eyes are open, my love is strong I am here to stay and it will always be that way We're in this together We're in this together Forever Together
