    the early goal was huge, even though we got it right back. 3 goals in a final against a team with no real incentive to attack was always going to be a huge task

    congrats to PR, definitely deserving of the championship

    Exactly. Especially so in the final leg in Cary. Gotta put the ball in the net or else everything that happens on the field is irrelevant.

    I think, though, that Bill Gaudette is the key for Puerto Rico. Amazing keeper. I wonder why he's not back in MLS

    I have always liked Bill
    maybe this run plus expansion may see that happen

    Doubt it. I don't think he's an MLS starter, and at his age, I think he'd rather play in D2 than sit on a bench all summer. In the end it may come down to money. Guys at the end of MLS benches now make more than the average D2/D3 player.

    I think the majority of the 150 new MLS jobs next year are going to go to new players and D2/D3 players that are under 25 for the most part.

    Just a guess based on watching MLS/USL rosters for the last 15 years.
