Any confirmation about Ahmed Abbas and Muhanad Assiri will play today? It seems they have been injured but the extent of the injury is not determined.
HT-KSA 0-0 Kuwait Kuwait gaining the upper hand in first half with more than 2 chances hitting the woodwork. They are looking strong and have a lot of pace in there attack.
Congratss Kuwait. But never thought this Saudi team will reach finals. Secondly I have never blame any 1 but this time i must say the referee was biased towards Kuwaiti team.
congratulations to Kuwait ! al ittihady no he was not ...Kuwait deserved to win don't be a bad loser , there is nothing wrong at losing
He was.The cards given to the players and specaillyy to Muhanad Asiri is debatable.. I did not mind Saudi losing the game..Indeed we deserved it.
I can't comment on the ref, but your right about your comment on the Saudi team, but it must be pleasing that although Saudi haven't had the best of teams recently but they can still churn out teams that can make it to the latter stages (finalist at Asian Cup 2007, finalist at GNC 09 and 10). Kuwait have been doing very well recently, and must be in confident mood from winning the WAFF Championship as well, looking to see them perform well on the big stage now.
Thank God the cup went peace fully without any disturbances.Congrats again to Yemen for successfull hosting of CUP and Kuwait for deservely winning it Atleast now the coach must remove the tagline of playing with B-Team and seriously start playing with real squad.
My brief thoughts of the teams at the tournament: -Kuwait, been quietly confident, well done, biggest challenge is a good showing at the Asian Cup -Saudi Arabia, maybe they took the pressure off them by annoucning a 'B' team, but is it time they start to mould the 'B' team into an 'A' team? Surely whatever event it is, they should send the best team possible and integrate a few fringe/young players? -Iraq, doing well, buidling momentum after a slow start with Sidka. I see them doing everything they can to defend there Asian title - UAE, always seem to be a steady team, they aren't bad, but there's always someone better - Oman, how to defend a title? Don't copy Oman of course, poor showing - Bahrain, on a big downslide, how do they stop the rot? - Qatar, they come across like they are ready to make a big noise and then fail to deliver. The worlds eyes are now on them, they need to pull up there socks and succed - Yemen, so much preperation went into this, they simply struggled, should be more relaxed next time out
The scheduling was not wrong.Indeed it was a good time for the team to prepare for Asian Cup.In my view if FA would have sent a full strength team then they would have cut off the load of playing more friendlies after or before Asian Cup.For Example-Saudi played two friendlies in Turkey which was for the preparation for both Gulf Cup and Asian Cup.If the FA was sending A-team then we could have prepared more with less efforts. At last I did not find any new player which can be given chance in Asian Cup but they can be the future team. Players like AbdullAzizi Dossari ,Ibrahim Ghalib,Sultan Nemri,Kamel Mosa must be given more time to play for there clubs so that they can prepare for future,
It was completely wrong. Tournaments are far more stressful than friendly games. You can two friendly games 3 days from each other then rest up for a month but in a tourney, you have a quick succession of MUST WIN games where you don't have the chance to try tactics or take risks.
Ok, I'm going to post here rather than open up a new thread at this moment, but 2013 edition has now been switched to Bahrain and will be played in either December 2012 or Jan 2013. Basra (Iraq) will host the 22nd edition of the tournament in December 2014 or January 2015. http://www.qfa.com.qa/bahrain-to-host-21st-gulf-cup.aspx
