Is Kurihara any good? He plays every week with Nakazawa right? Did he dish out Matsuda?

He played against Serbia I think and I remember people thought he did not do to well in his 2 NT matches.

well in the squad we have 5 CB's : Nakazawa, Iwamasa, Kurihara, Nagata, Makino.

And well I'd rate Kurihara as no.4 or 5 which is why i'm not keen for him to play. Plus he's not like some great young talent CB or anything he's almost 27. Santa Cruz & Barrios would tear Kurihara to pieces i reckon but lets see.

    link anyone?

I'm watching this game with an interest in Kagawa. :) Hopefully, he can show his potential at the senior level too.

Also, pleased to see Ortigoza playing for Paraguay. He's playing his football at Ulsan Horangi of K-league. Barrios has been the most impressive player on the pitch so far.

Half-time almost over, Japan looking decent. Not too many scares for the defence so far.

Not too bad so far and the left flank is looking good with Kagawa and Nagatomo.

Few words after first half. Hosogai is playing well but not as creative as in club. Maybe he's not used to expectations from coach or too afraid to take risk in some situations. Also too passive in taking ball from Paraguayans. Uchida looks like a lonely child on the right. I don't know why he doesn't get the ball from the center when he's got almost clear side ahead of him. Also Kagawa playing well but making wrong decissions when he's in front of the goal. I can't understand why he's so nervous tonight.

This Honda---Kagawa---Matsui stuff is absolutely awesome. Also Hosogai has done a good job so far.

But wow you gotta wonder how in the world are we ever going to replace Nakazawa.

You gotta love his reactions. I swear, I haven't seen crazy GK reactions since the Kahn/Lehmann days.

It was a very good game overall, because Paraguay wasn't one of those joke NTs that too often come to Japan. I have a lot to say, maybe write a small piece about the game.

Anyway, the regret for not having Kagawa in South Africa is even bigger.

Wow!! japan is looking great! Just glad to see that Honda is in a more natural position for his talents. His versatility is sometimes not beneficial for him. But I absolutely admire the man. Asian Ace!!

Now I wonder why Kagawa was not in the WC2010. With him there, Japan would be a more potent force moving foward.

Japan has so much potential. A lot of players are young and will peak around 2014. I hope Japan will make some noise in Brazil and they are Asia's best hope.

Awful first half but good second half. At the moment, Morimoto is not even half the player Takahara was at his prime. It is a big worry since he's going to be starting every game he's available. I thought Honda was poor... he is no playmaker. Hosogai had a good debut and Kengo and Matsui were good too. Nagatomo, Nakazawa, and Kawashima were immense. Wtf happened to Uchida? He's delivery was shocking. Kurihara is no international level. We may finally have a top 30 attacking player in the world since Nakata.

nsato > Save your awulf for something that really is awfuld. Decent first-half, good second. they beat some months ago, we were able to avenge our loss against a team which was close to score against Spain. Good.
