I'm bored. WE NEED NEW SONGS!

I know it's been tough in the Cauldron because of the Wizards' poor play, but we could spice things up if we had some new material.

Our House (to the tune of same, by Madness)

    Our house!
    Is the C-A-B so sweet
    Our house
    Just off Prairie Crossing street
    Our house
Is our castle and our keep
    Our house
Where the Wizards can't be beat

(Repeat as needed, then it would be cool to finish just by chanting "Our House!" over and over in a dark and threatening manner. If we could get the whole stadium doing it, that would be sweet.)

    I'm a Kansas City Wizard
(to "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy")

    I'm a Kansas City Wizard
    Kansas City till I die
No we won't stand down until we win that crown
    Holding our banners on high!

Yes, I'm a Kansas City Wizard
The Kansas City Wizards are my team
I'll raise my hand and swear by Kevin Hartman's hair
That the Wizards will soon reign supreme!

Kansas City came to town for victory and glory
So come on KC here we go!

    ---------------------

One thing that would be nice is to have mostly our own unique repertoire. At the moment, many of our songs and chants are basically the same as every other MLS team. "Oohh, KC Wiz" might as well be "Ohh, <insert MLS team here>". :D

I enjoy the ''Our House'' one, that sounds catchy and a bit orginal...Other one might be a bit to long...Even though it sounds good when we do it, I wish we hadn't jacked Columbus's ''I love you'' chant

Yeah I was going to say earlier, many teams have had that chant before Columbus. Almost every song every team like us has, came from a team before us.

Actually, based on an e-mail I received last season, I believe Toronto FC created all of the songs used in MLS

Maybe this needs a new thread, but I am going to post it i here anyway.

I would like to see everyone start early this off season...posting new ideas for flags/banners/Tifos/original chants. lets make it a productive off season and come back in 2010 with some new, original atmosphere in the Cauldon....

    What say you?

I'm ready. We need to bust out better, simpler, more original songs, and we've got an offseason to work on it.

This is the right idea. It's easy to start and pick up even if you haven't been to a game. We did this with Curt Onalfo's Blue and White Army, but Kansas City is much better and future proof (hopefully). :D

Got this in my email. Everyone who cares about building this club's support into something more should come, even if you watch the games elsewhere. I've been wrestling with a lot of ideas recently about what we can do to reorganize for next year, and this seems like a perfect time to get on the same page and work towards a common goal.
