Good game today between Everton and Liverpool. I thought the bitters had most of the run of play while Liverpool got the luck that had been missing this season to-date and opportunistic on Kuyt's goal. That's football. Here's hoping the blues stay out of the relegation zone! See ya at Anfield.

Glad to see Liverpool win, though I dont think they are going to finish in the top 4 this year.

Also, Jimmy Bullard's goal celebration saturday is the greatest goal celebration of all time.

Who is gonna take their place? Shittenham or Shitcity? Shitson Villa? Those clubs aren't even as deep as Liverpool's thin squad. Now that Liverpool are out of CL, they will get the points they need to stay in the top 4.

Your probably right about Liverpool being deeper than those teams, but it just seems to me that the atmosphere is poisoned at Anfield right now. I'd love it if they turned it on and played great for the rest of the season, because missing the CL would be devastating for the club given their financial woes, or at least I assume it would be. I've been partial to Villa for a couple years as far as the club I thought could break into the top 4, I'd still go with them.

liverpool will go on their usual january-march run, get the scouse all aroused at the 'possibility' of catching the title, and secure their place in the top four by mid april.

villa is way too thin. spurz (and im LOLing at saying this) are probs the team with the most depth, and have the best chance of hanging around for the length of the campaign. omg, i just LAWLed all over the place. spurz in the top 4? hahahahahahah

btw spurz fanz, love it while you got it, cuz harry will be gone next year, and you guize will have another shit manager in there, to fight off relegation with.

Gee thanks for the ball bust on Liverpool; however this is the EPL thread - shouldn't Bristol City supporters hang out on the Championship boards? ;)

As you said ... that's the game. Frustrating game to watch from a Blues standpoint. :(

I have decided that I want Liverpool to finish out of the top 4. Losing the Champions League money could be the final straw that forces Hicks and Gillette to sell. Getting new owners is much more important to the future of Liverpool than sneaking into the Champions League.

What guarantee is there the next owners will be any better?

I don't understand the animosity towards the yanks. Yeah, there have been issues but look, Rafa makes the personnel decisions and at the end of the day the team wins and loses with who he puts on the field. The owners gave him the green light to buy Torres for 20m, Glenn Johnson for 17.5, and Aquaman for 20m. The failed Robbie Keane experiment also was 20m so it's not like they haven't made expensive acquisitions every single year. It's the quality of the players surrounding those stars that Rafa needs to improve. The owners don't make the personnel decisions; Rafa does.

As a fan I'd never want Liverpool to finish out of the top 4, that's ridiculous.

I didnt say I dont want Rafa gone as well. The owners just dont have the money to compete at a top 4 level, thats why I want them gone.

Looking forward to this weekend's derby at Anfield! Liverpool and Everton both playing well, should be a very good match. Curious to see how Landycakes does.

I know this is complete blasphemy, but I have changed my allegiances from Liverpool to Everton. Ever since Landon came to Everton I've been following them more than any other team, and yesterday put it over the top, as I found myself rooting for Everton as I watched that game, and when it was over, I found myself disappointed that Liverpool had won. I decided in 2006 that Liverpool was going to be my team in Europe, but once I thought about it, I never really felt passionate about how they did, and I find myself rooting for Everton when I've watched them the last month more than I ever rooted for Liverpool, and more like how I root for the Revs or USA. So again, I know it's blasphemous but for better or worse, Everton is now my team.

Just don't "change" again when the loan spell is over and LandyCakes is shipped back to LA.

Have fun on the wrong side of Mersey!:D

The good side of Mersey's doing fine thanks. We don't completely hate our owner. We're not majorly in debt. I'll take what Everton does on an annual basis with the cards they're dealt. And I'll be proud of it.

About the actual game … Liverpool played fantastic, full credit goes to them. Everton just couldn't string passes together, and I got completely sick of the "let's play Route 1 ball" even though up a man. Nice finish by Kuyt ... if only Cahill had done the same.
