NY? Toronto? LA over the 4th? I'm going to be away for the NY Game, but I'm down for Toronto again. Who else?
There's a bit of talk on the schedule thread about this but a new thread is a good idea!! Toronto - Red Sox/Revolution Doubleheader! Drew Mike A. I'd love to get a group to do the Galaxy match over the 4th of July....Monty's concern was tickets...I thought they kept tickets aside for travelling support. I'm sure the Revs would help us out here right?? If not LA in July...How about San Jose in August?? Problem is the Toronto trip is the next week! What about Colorado in September??
I don't know if they always set aside tickets or not for opposing fans. I'll get in touch with someone in LA. I'm definitely interested in Dallas, SanHo, Toronto and obviously NY. Colorado's a possibility because I love Denver.
http://www.alexmoloney.com/six50king I am very interested in Toronto, Colorado, and maybe San Jose. Can't do LA, I have a wedding on the 4th I can't wiggle my way out of.
I'm interested in Toronto and I can probably swing one more, LA or San Jose probably. And obviously bus trips to NY.
No that's about a half a kilometer (eh?) down the street from my new digs. I don't want to be TOO close to the riff-raff...
LA on the 4th? My birthday is the 5th. That'd be awesome if it could be pulled off. I'm game for Toronto and NY, too.
I'm interested in LA/San Jose (San Jose more-so, I've heard the bay area is wonderful!) and Toronto, but whether or not I'll be able to go, time will tell. We'd need a passport this time around for Toronto right?
No, I'm serious, it's a requirement now right? I think June or something? I might have to go to San Jose, the Astros are playing the Giants on the Thursday before the game
You know that San Francisco is an hour, hour and a half with traffic, away from San Jose, right? Or a 2 hour train ride... (If you're wondering where I get my info from, I have family in San Francisco and I've made the trip between the cities a number of times)
I do. A few of the flights I looked at had a layover in San Fran, which is how I got the idea. I'd just take the train in assuming it's cheaper. It's not something I'm seriously looking into right now, but it's a possibility.
I would definitely be in for NY and Toronto. I would love to go to Denver again and LA since I've never been there. I just don't think my finances this year are going to stretch that far. (Now I'm starting to sound like Nathan. )
The good news is that the train lets you off within a really short walk of the ballpark (formerly PacBell, can't think of the name now). The train time depends on whether it's an express or local, but should range from an hour to an hour and a half. The drive on the other hand can range from about an hour to about 5 hours depending on traffic. I once spent 4.5 hours in a cab going from Mountain View (just north of San Hoser) to SFO (just south of San Fran) because of traffic. What should have been an $80 cab ride turned into almost $200!
I wish we would stop calling Jersey a Road Trip..... That's just a nice Saturday afternoon drive....A trip to Foxboro where you miss the exit and keep driving for a while.... LA, San Jose, Colorado, Toronto.....Those are Road Trips!
This is the only reason I'm rooting for Philly and Montreal to get MLS teams, they're in the same boat as Jersey in terms of driving distance
Everything you said is spot-on. Driving between the two cities is a nightmare, the traffic is so unpredictable.
