You should have put that up earlier. I was disappointed on how that design came out and wouldn't have minded Mad Max scaring away some votes.

I've been jealous of Monty/Rand's white Midnight Riders scarf since the moment I laid eyes on it....

I agree, but I'd much rather enjoy watching a small handful of people whine about how Evan's design "misrepresents us". I value comedy over fashion.

... because they don't like being associated with the Mighty Ducks? ;)

That was discussed during the run up. I believe Steve ran it by the lawyer who said it was ok.

People can vote more than once sadly if they use fake names. Here's hoping no one's quite that pathetic.

Actually no they can't cause I have the IP address of every voter.

    Multiple votes don't count.

By the way, I just hope people take pride in this contest and let the best scarf win. I'd like to think that the amount of votes that are casted are the amount of orders we'll get.

So, if someone used the same computer as another voter, you didn't count their vote?

I used personal discretion. I understand that there are families that want to vote so I allow that. This year hasn't been that bad, mainly cause everyone has been pretty honest. But if I get Tom Smith, Bob Jones, Ryan Clark, Muhammad Asafari, Dick Johnson, etc, from one IP, I don't include them.

Now I'm wondering whose vote didn't get counted, mine or Dan's, because we both voted from his computer in the first round.

I hope we're just misunderstanding that...

I hope you don't actually mean what those smilies imply. It's a freakin contest over seven square feet of fabric.

    Both. :)

I'm guessing Steve knows not to lump you two together as one vote for Dandy. :D

I would assume so, since we entered different names and emails.

That would be taking the Dandy thing a little too far! :D

But the IP address thing and Chowda's comment did make me wonder...

I also have access to the membership list. Like I said, everyone for the most part have been honest.

And those who haven't aren't that smart trying to ballot stuff.

So this was limited to active members?

It's not just limited to active members. It is marketed to those who are subscribed to the Midnight Riders Yahoo! email list, those who check the website, and those who post on Bigsoccer, as well as myspace friends.

The process isn't fail proof but I do the best I can to make sure every vote casted is legit. It is why I ask for a name and email address, and why I also collect the IP addresses.
