Wow, thats absolutely dreadful.... does New England really not care and underestimated Joe Public that much or what? Not to put down Carribean teams or anything, but I would have imagined New England would have been a giant favorite.....

If CONCACAF has any integrity they will take away one of MLS spots next year.

heh, I kinda gotta snicker, because I'm by no means a fan of New England... but is this a broader MLS issue with teams wanting to rest players and not play as hard?
I just can't comprehend how these teams wouldn't want international prestige...

    disgusting.

I understand schedule conflicts, but come on.... 3-0 at home? I mean, I can't see the game right now, but that just sounds like they are throwing in the towel.

Spanish and Italian teams have bombed out of CL play before. No one's asking for a spot to be taken from them, now are they? Yeah the revs are playing shit, but if anyone needs to get a spot taken it's Panama, and that should be given to Costa Rica...maybe.

In Europe they use coefficients if enough Spanish and Italian teams bomb out then they will lose a spot.

I guess a certain person who spent months complaining about concacaf unjustly give MLS more spots than costa rica in the end was...... right....

And so far, how many have bombed out? 1 apparently...no need to jump the gun on the first year with so much turmoil in MLS. However, the revs should be taken out behind the stadium after the game and let firing squad have at 'em! :D

Yeah but UEFA has a system that will take spots away if the teams from a confederation under performs, based on a points system. I doubt CONCACAF has a similar system. If it did MLS Teams wouldn't have more spots than Costa Rica.

This post will teach me to never be, in any way shape or form, kind to that useless band of ********stains known as the New England Rev.

If they took Joe Public too lightly, they don't deserve another point in MLS play.

If they blew the game off, they don't deserve another point in MLS play.

If they cry about all the injuries, the deserve to get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs in embarrassing style.

The baby goats have more af an excuse then the Revs...

What did MLS ever do to earn 4 spots?

Last time I checked no MLS team has even made a final since 2000.

Earn? This is the Warner-land confederation...no one earns anything!:D It does suck that Costa Rica has the same number of spots as Panama. But if anything...they (panama) should've gotten one less spot and have that gon to CR. If they take a spot away next year, meh. Though I doubt the bigwigs will do it.

Now, if EUFA has this in place...did Italy get a spot taken away after Roma got raped by Man U?

regardless you can make a very strong argument that they are the 2nd best league in CONCACAF.... I'd imagine most would say the MLS is stronger than Costa Rica's premier division. Not to mention the country is larger and has more teams.... and will continue to have more teams and should be getting increasingly stronger in the coming years.

Typical response from a MLS fan.

Don't worry I'm sure you guys will have your 4 undeserved spots next year.

How do you figure? It's not like they've underperformed this year. I mean they have all but eliminated Chivas USA, and San Francisco FC was unlucky to lose away to Guatemalan side Deportivo Jalapa.

WTF? It's not like I'm being unrealistic. Don't talk as if somehow MLS fans are the enemies. We're not making the decisions, mkay chief? We're not allocating spots into the tourney. You've got an issue take it up with warner's greedy ass not MLS or it's fans. Anyways, besides LDA and and Saprissa...who else is going to make a splash? Puntarenas? Come on?

I think it's fair to say that they'd do better than both Chivas USA and NE Revolution have done this year.

ehhh.....i guess i mean u guys do have more money than the costa rican league....but honestly you guys havent shown you are the second best league in international tournaments.

UEFA should strip some spots from italy, the only consistent team is AC Milan, juve , inter and especially roma have been a disgrace.
