Would you say the two Mexican teams, New England (currently the best team in MLS), and LD Alajuelense are the best four teams in this round?

SwissGCZ, if this topic doesn't get stickied I think a lot of other topics could get newer posts and this topic could be duplicated when it gets closer to the games.

IIRC Univisión in Spanish and FSC in English.

Correct, though not every game will be carried. Also, it's worth noting that it's the Univision family of networks, not necessarily Univision the channel. A lot of games are likely to be on Galavision and Telefutura as opposed to Univision.

Well, I'm not a mod in here. Morado?

I have the feeling these two series will be contested the most closely:

AD Isidro Metapan (SLV) – CD Marathon (HON)
Deportivo Jalapa (GUA) – San Francisco FC (PAN)

Apparently there are no stadium lights where Real Estelí FC plays and since CONCACAF states that all games are to be played at night, they're home match with Montreal Impact is being moved (Honduras? Miami?)

    My prediction:

CDSC Cruz Azul (MEX) – Hankook Verdes (BLZ)
AD Isidro Metapan (SLV) – CD Marathon (HON)
Harbour View FC (JAM) – Pumas UNAM (MEX)
Deportivo Jalapa (GUA) – San Francisco FC (PAN)
Joe Public FC (TRI) – New England Revolution (USA)
Montreal Impact (CAN) - Real Esteli FC (NCA)
Tauro FC (PAN) – CD Chivas USA (USA)
LD Alajuelense (CRC) – Puerto Rico Islanders (PUR)

I don't see any big upsets happening this round. Of all the big teams, Chivas USA is probably the only who has the biggest chance (about 30%) of losing due to their international inexperience.

Is there a listing for the TV schedule in the US? I tried to find one on the CONCACAF site, but couldn't.

Edit: nevermind, just saw the other post on this topic.

Regarding Chivas USA -- for those who don't follow MLS -- their form is very poor right now mainly because they are incredibly depleted. Not a deep team to begin with they have suffered and incredible string of injuries. I think nearly half their starting line-up has been unavailable for selection in recent games. The cuban Maykal Galindo is working back into shape though. Ante Razov remains out. Marsh has a broken jaw. Others are out.

Looking forward to this kicking off...

Hey, off topic a bit, but does anyone know why Joe Public FC are called "Joe Public"? I've been poking around on the net a bit and can't find much.

I think it's just a name they picked to try and appeal to the common man. Similar to The Crew for Columbus. Although, I'd imagine most people don't even understand the story behind the Crew name.

This should be good times. A nice tournament that includes just about everybody and one that will be competitive. All things considered I think this sucker goes to Pumas, Cruz Azul, Saprissa or possibly New England.

    1. CDSC Cruz Azul (MEX) – Hankook Verdes (BLZ)
    2. Harbour View FC (JAM) – Pumas UNAM (MEX)
    3. LD Alajuelense (CRC) – Puerto Rico Islanders (PUR)
    4. Joe Public FC (TRI) – New England Revolution (USA)
    5. AD Isidro Metapan (SLV) – CD Marathon (HON)
    6. Montreal Impact (CAN) - Real Esteli FC (NCA)
    7. Deportivo Jalapa (GUA) – San Francisco FC (PAN)
    8. Tauro FC (PAN) – CD Chivas USA (USA)

Will be interesting to see if there are any upsets. Chivas USA is so dire right now, I could see them dropping to a side from Panama.

You really think so? I'm sure you know a lot about alajuela but how much do you know about PRI? Have you watched any of their matches recently, or is this just a guess?

I am not so sure about Alajuela taking down PRI as PRI have a nice squad...not so sure how much they are interested in this tourney though

Alajuela is not what they used to be a few years ago, i really dont know a lot about the PRI, however they have some interesting players that may give Alajuela a hard time, I am sure they wont be a punching bag for alajuela

PRI is fantastic right now. On top of USL1 and looking like a side playing a step above. I think this PRI side could compete and do well in MLS. Add to that their AMAZING away record this season. It's going to be interesting.
