As someone who has been to all 12 SEC campuses, I would have to say, in order: Georgia Ole Miss Auburn Arkansas Vanderbilt LSU Tennessee Mississippi State Kentucky Alabama Florida South Carolina But out of all the campuses I have ever been to, Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., has to be my personal favorite. Notre Dame's is pretty amazing too.
Not sure how Salve Regina in Newport, RI gets left off that list. Both of these lawns of course slope to cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. Newport's famous Cliff Walk actually winds through campus. The Breakers and Rosecliff are neighbors... Someone was talking about SEC schools before, and mentioned SC. The main quad (called the Horseshoe) is very nice, but the rest of campus is a sprawling mess.
Good call. My wife is from Newport, and we used to use the library when we were there visiting, both the old one and the newer one. We used to walk from her parent's house to Salve by way of the Cliff Walk, in fact.
I'm admittedly biased, but BC has to be up there, at least once the renovation on Gasson Hall (the big church tower) gets done.
Yes and so beautiful the college at one pt had the highest suicide rate in the country, w the gorge as a prime spot. But yes it should be on the list.
May not be everyones cup of tea, but was impressed by the University of New Mexico. Unfortunately the area around campus was not very nice, and Albuquerque isn't as scenic as Santa Fe or Taos.
Oh my. I haven't been to any of them except Florida, and I think the campus here is beautiful. So many tunnels of liveoaks with Spanish moss, and flowers year-round. If that's number 11 out of 12, then...damn...
Well, I am a UT alumnus, after all. Seriously though, that may have played a subconscious role in my thinking (why I didn't enjoy my visits to Gainesville). I might move it up above Alabama, but that's it. I just wasn't crazy about it. The football and basketball arenas are pretty cool, though. On the negative side, it was also a little too spread out for me (at least the athletics facilities were, like the distance from basketball to softball). It would be at the bottom of the SEC, in my opinion, except that South Carolina's is so horribly designed there's no way that is ever leaving the bottom spot on my personal list. Sorry if my subconscious played too much of a role in my list (I tried to be objective), but I really dislike Florida, especially after how much the UF football team has been absolutely killing us the last few years.
Really? We must have some seriously different views. Out of the SEC schools i've been too, here is my list. 1. Alabama 2.Vanderbilt 3. Ole Miss 4. Georgia 5. LSU 6. Florida 7. Auburn Alabama's campus is awesome, Vanderbilt is also beautiful, as with Ole Miss. What i don't get is Auburn? Their "campus" is like 5 acres and a whole lot of farms.
