The city pumps money into the club like there's no tomorrow anyway. Not only that they take out the cheques whenever Dynamo is in danger of not getting the license, they also pay them subsidies of 3 million Euros per season.* For whatever reason (well, the official reason is that Dynamo can't afford to pay the rent to play in the brand new stadium the city got them. So the city pays subsidies on top of building the stadium).

*Edit again: changed the number back to the original claim, as this article seems to confirm it: http://www.dnn-online.de/sport/regionalsport/dynamo/r-regionalsport-a-21872.html

Good thing that Rapid Wien and FSV Zwickau are not joining the 2.BL!

    Re: 2010/2011 2nd Bundesliga Thread [R]

Rapid had to forfeit their final home match against Austria Wien because their "fans" invaded the pitch after Austria took a 2:0 lead in the first half. Zwickau suffered a similar fate in their Oberliga match on Sunday after thirty scoreless minutes and will certainly be nailed by the NOSF for it.

    Re: 2010/2011 2nd Bundesliga Thread [R]

So your point is..... if Rapid Wien from Austrian Bundesliga and FSV Zwickau from German Oberliga played in 2. Bundesliga their fans would invade the pitch?

I think you need to look further into the concept of "humor" ;).

I dont have any humor :p

Besides humor on a discusiion board is difficult. Either you have to overexaggerate, use smileys well or be really elegantly witty.

Is there a way to redo the poll for this coming season? Or maybe we should just make a new thread?

It's because of the Euro. Unlike the First the Second BL keeps the longer winterbreak, so they start 2 weeks earlier and will be in synch again after winter.

Marketing reasons also play a role there as Cazion posted. DFL officials are cited about drawing additional attention to the 2. BL by this early start.

But not really the primary reason.

Btw, the 2nd BL starting earlier but having a longer winter break is actually how it was done in the 90s, that both leagues use the exact same schedule is actually a relatively recent thing (I haven't checked, but I guess it came with the DFL, definitely not before). Leagues also started in July back then sometimes.

Before you do, I realized I made a minor error, I have Braunschweig winning the league ;):p

Always willing to hear others' opinions :) I would say take these predictions with a grain of salt, I honestly can't even name a player on half of the teams. Apart from Frankfurt, Pauli, Bochum, and 1860 I don't know much about any of the other teams
