The top of the table meets the bottom - yet 4 weeks ago that team gave the Sol all they could handle. Only Marta beating their offside trap in the 80th minute allowed LA to eke out a win.

The Sol look a good deal better than they did back then, but then Sky Blue have been able to beat Boston (something LA hasn't done in 2 chances.) The team won't have a full week to recover from these last 3 games, yet those 6 days probably look pretty good to our tired players.

I wonder who the coach will start, and what kind of substitution pattern he will use. So many of our 'non-starters' have played so well - one could almost call the situation 'an embarassment of riches.'

I wonder if there will be any way to see or hear the match?

I would start the exact same line up as the Washington Freedom game last sunday which was one of our better games of the year. Assuming that Wagner available to play after her head stitches.

I think Bock has earned another shot at forward regardless of Han injury status and ditto with Keri Sanchez on defense. Both played well and deserve another game starting opportunity.

Would like to see Abner use some more subs earlier in the game to give them playing experience and to develop more depth. Thought Wash game with 3-1 score was perfect opportunity for subs. What do others think about using subs more??

NJ can be tough as they play good defense so always in every game, would not assume an easy victory.

I believe this was one of the games that will be aired on Universal Sports - so people in the LA area can see it. Unfortunately it is only regional so everywhere else is out of luck unless someone streams it on justin.tv (hint) ;)

Thanks for that info. I just checked Time Warner Cable for the San Diego area - it is on channel 136. There appears to be a High Def version (ch 724), but that isn't in the sports package that I have.

I like the way you think, Merlin777...

The Sky Blue v. Boston game on TV the other day showed that SB are getting their act together......really fluid play. Their MF is tight. Should be a great matchup. They don't look like the foot of the table.

I just read somewhere (Dan Lauletta's article on WPS?) that Manya Makoski will be at her brother's wedding and won't be available and Han Duan is doubtful because of a bad leg and may not make the trip.

Possible lineup change for this weekend: even though the Sol has gotten excellent goaltending from both Karina LeBlanc and Val Henderson, there's a rumor that Coach Rogers is so impressed with Brittany Bock's versatility that he's planning to start Bock in goal.

I tried tuning in to Time Warner Universal 136 in San Diego the last time Sol was scheduled on Universal Sports channel and nada. They showed cycling. Justin TV our best bet if someone in LA will oblige.

The game will be on Universal Sports...Only in Los Angeles and New Jersey TV markets...

If you live in Los Angeles TV market, you don't need to subscribe to cable to get Universal Sports...All you need is a digital TV or a converter box. Channel is 4.4.

My prediction is that Universal Sports people will end the coverage after 2 hours even if the game is not over...That is what happened last time when it showed Sol's game against Sky Blue at HDC...

It ticks me off that only the local markets get to see the games... NJ and LA.. I understand LA as it is an away game, but NJ? dont they want those people to have to come to the game ? (granted only people on the SB mailing list know it will be on TV and less that probably have that channel)

another poor decision by the teams sponsoring the broadcast - guess universal sports will have on some sort of replay (Swimming or sychronized running or some other useless sporting initiative that no one gives a rats ass about) in my area once again

Don't you have a digital TV? Or, if you still have an analog TV, a digital converter box? All one has to do is tune into Channel 4.4 at 4 pm on Saturday...

4.1 is KNBC, the NBC affiliate in Los Angeles. Universal Sports is part of NBC.

You don't have to subscribe to cable or satellite to watch Universal Sports...At least in Los Angeles media market...

I am hoping that some NJ/NY residents would watch the match and decide to actually attend the games later...WPS needs people showing up at the games...

Okay: I just did Mac/Safari to this URL on Universal Sports. For the first time USports is listing the game: LA Sol v. Sky Blue. I tried out an archived video and it works!! When I try to load the Sol game Sat. it tries to load it!!! I'm choosing to be optimistic.

    Speculation line up for Saturday:
    Marta Schnugg:D
    Miyama Bock Abily
    Boxx
    Cox Franco Falk Sanchez
    LeBlanc

I see on Schnugg's bio that she is a "set up" forward. I don't know her speed but this frees up Bock to play in the midfield. Of course Schnugg was signed as a "developmental player" but we discovered Sanchez had been practicing with the Sol well before her call-up and was a surprise starter.
Not available? Makoski-brother's wedding; Wagner? I can't imagine Wagner playing with 9 stitches so soon after injury....helmut?:D

The way the 'Mad Doctor' Abner likes to experiment, you could be right! I can see it now, as the game begins: "It's Alive, It's Alive!" :)

Anything is possible...including the start of a just signed player like Julie Schnugg. But, I just don't see it at least right off the bat.

My bet for the starting lineup for the NJ game is on the same line-up we had for the last game against the Freedom and with Zerboni playing mid if Wagner is unavailable.

Of course, if we knew who traveled on the traveling squad to NJ we could really hone our guesses.

Key Q for me - is which Sol team going to show up tomorrow? The juggernaut squad who played great against Freedom and Athletica or the sluggish one we saw against Chicago?

I will be on my way to the game shortly, I will try to get as many Photos and maybee some video... not enthusuastic as the crowd at SB is really lame, Marta should get all the cheers... and LeBlanc will have a large contingency there as she is an assistance for Rutgers

I am going to the game today - but is it at 4pm or 7pm ?

On the WPS page, I swear I saw 7pm ???? EDIT - SORRY ! in my haste I forgot you guys were talking PT !

By the way - at away games, what are my chances of getting an autograph ?

And I am taking my girlfriend to the game - so how do I hide my crush on Aya ? Well ok, let's call it serious worship of the game's most classist player .......

Starting line-up, according to Universal, is the same as last week - with Wagner in the game. Lots and lots of umbrellas in evidence.

Does look to be wet via the webcast. That won't help NJs already low attendance figures. I'm guessing no "Marta bump" for them.

Branam back in goal for SkyBlue. Bardsley started last week.
