i just saw a few diff clips of mazzarri at diff times of the game putting his hand on his heart, maybe there was something more to it than what he said after the game.

Yeah I noticed that too. I got the impression that he was only playing up for the cameras though, not in a bad way, more that he was making a sort of joke of the reports last week of his heart issues.

Maybe he's having a "change in heart" over playing with a 4 man backline

damn our 3rd string keeper Roberto Colombo always seems extremely excited whenever we score, I guess we're paying him to be a cheerleader for us hahaha

ideally if Mazzarri played a 4 man back line and the formation similar to the Genoa game I think the lineup would look like this

    --Maggio----Cannavaro----Campagnaro-----Dossena---
    -----------Dzemaili-----------Inler-------------------------
    ------Mesto(or Pandev)----Hamsik-------Insigne-------
    ----------------------Cavani------------------------------

only put the Pandev there because maybe Mazzarri still wants him in the starting lineup

but I do like Gamberini, so you can probably replace him with Campagnaro or Cannavaro for a given game if need be (oh squad rotation? Mazzarri is learning a little about that too!)

Apparently Behrami, along with playing in the center can play on the right side NickyViola did Behrami play on the right for you guys last season?

Nope. He was a right mezz'ala but not out on the flank. He was really a flank player at Lazio, though. No idea about West Ham.

alright thanks haha, seeing how the 4-2-3-1 formation has kicked off as it started as a "Mazzarri panic tactic" now it seems the past 2 games our midfield has been insanely creative... Behrami still could play defensive midfielder as a ball winner probably, he'll probably need to be more box to box which i think he could do though, and probably the most capable of being a good box to box midfielder on our team.

But it remains to be seen if Mazzarri wants to use it for a full 90 minutes, may be good time to try against an AC Milan team who their striker thinks that kicking it into the stands counts as a goal

ok boys, well done. Great victory.

I agree we need to switch formation.

    -----------------------Cavani-----------------------------------
    -Insigne/Zuniga------Hamsik--------------Pandev/Mesto---
    ---------Dzemailli/Behrami---Inler---------------------------
    Dossena--Cannavaro--Fernandez/Gamba--Maggio/Campa
    -----------------------de Sanctis---------------------------------

Pretty clear where our weakness is, in red.

We knew it from the start but Dela and Bigon did not address it.

To keep Cavani we need to buy 3 players. Also, I would love to get Immobili in summer

Cannavaro is ok yes he makes mistakes but i think we hate on him to much its way more difficult to play in a back 3 then a back 4.

Agree with everything, would have loved a Verratti type player in midfield but Cigarini was a poor mans verratti

But I think highest priority is getting a proper left back

I think a centre midfielder is as important as a left back. We need both.

I agree Cannavaro is not a big problem for now.

my problem is Dossena would be a good back up option for Left back, he's a passable starter but if Dossena gets an injury problem, we have to put... Aronica, backpassing like Mesut Özil to the other team at left back, would rather a left back.

I think the Swiss midfield would be passable for the year and can focus on getting a good midfielder who is a deep lying playmaker in the summer, either keeping Cigarini or doing some inquiring.

Why do I have this strange feeling that Lavezzi will be back in the summer? Like on loan or something... he's been very poor at PSG
