Bingo bango bongo. Nail on head.
Again...what about this franchise has ever been RATIONAL? Also, you think Red Bull wasn't interested in keeping TV time slots on par? They only care about the bottom line and part of that bottom line is television.
To say that Red Bull had no input? None whatsoever in the scheduling/canceling/rescheduling of this game in lieu of 2 huge storms?
Come on. Red Bull had MLS' ear. Both of them failed miserably yesterday.
Doesn't anyone think NBC told MLS to hold off calling the game because the ads have already been sold and were waiting for SKC-Houston game to switch over at 9pm? I think they all knew the game was screwed that they put forth the charade of trying to clean up the field. Color me cynical, but you guys are not giving NBC credit for their role in this.
So wait, I was under the impression that MLS hated us because we don't cooperate, now all of the sudden we're capable of twisting their arm into under the table deals to reschedule playoff games? Which is it?
I'll give them credit. Everyone made a collosal error in judgement yesterday. Everyone.
Getting ahead of ourselves and all, but if we win and win the next round do we host MLS Cup?
I listened to a clip earlier ,where the guy from MLS that cancelled the the match said they consult BOTH teams on the decision to cancel the match.
I think I saw it somewhere on the DC Boards this morning.
Call 1 877 RB Soccer.. Emails are a waste. Demand retribution. Threaten pulling your tickets for next season.

I got a reply. I was just too busy on here and other places reading and writing stuff. I emailed him back asking if I would have any problem canceling my season tickets for next season.
Another thing Red Bull sucks at?
I will be cancelling my two, IF they don't offer me a third for free. Bank it RB.

A turf heating system was installed in August of 2009. Check pages 10 and 12.
"AUG. 18, 2009
Installation of the state-of-the-art, underground field drainage and turf heating system for the playing field at Red Bull Arena begins."
"Field Dimensions: 120 yards x 75 yards with state-of-the-art underground air, heating and drainage system"
That means whoever said #3 (the MLS official? Backe?) was either lying or ignorant. Don't know if we'll get a trustworthy answer to #1 or 2.
Once again I'd like to point out that season form does not equate to post season success. You're either hot or you're not. The fact that we could now host the MLS Cup final is crazy.
The players/coach/organization have a golden opportunity here. I hope they realize that.
I agreed that the game should have been cancelled earlier; unfortunately the weather forecast had called for high winds and rain/mix. Not one station was using the "word" snow, some places in CT got 6 to 7 inches. No one here is thinking about the players safety, it's all about the fans.
I don't blame the RB organization for not wanting to play, if Henry of Cahill broke a leg everyone would be complaining on why we played under those terrible conditions.
If we do advance to MLS Cup, Red Bull Arena will host it!
Please note that it's good chance that the weather will suck that day
I saw 2 seperate broadcasts that predicted 3-4 inches of snow in NJ.
Regardless, when you see the term "noreaster" you reschedule.
If they go out there tonight and stink it up, my two seats will be canceled. No question. If they try to offer me a third seat I won't take it. They could give me one of my existing seats or upgrade me and give me an existing seat. Right now I am seriously considering it. If tonight is a disaster I won't have anything to think about.
They play CL games in Russia in the snow, on froze fields, in single digit temps. That field was safe last night. I was there.
As for the forecast, they changed it the day before.
Hah. MLSFO despises Red Bull.
If they thought they could do it, they would have tried to stick it to them.
Also, NBC may have had some sort of a say in trying everything to get the game working as well behind the scenes (as an ND alum I know that they have far too much input in certain things like scheduling and running more commercials breaks per game than the others)
Which clearly means they're going to lose tonight. And hand DC the inside track to another MLS Cup
This was the reply I got.
I sure hope that isn't the case and you continue to want to be a season ticket holder. The league office unfortunately believed the match could be played and didn't allow us to avoid the situation that you and all the other fans had to endure. This was clearly a mistake and one that hopefully will not be repeated in the future.
I would be more than happy to speak with you about your concerns in greater detail and hopefully keep you happy as a Red Bulls season ticket holder.
We can't refund the payments made on the tickets once applied to the season tickets, so would definitely like to go over everything with you to show that we really do care greatly about our fans and will take whatever time is needed to demonstrate that to you.
I imagine the Russian leagues have a better system of keeping the fields clear of snow then 12 interns and a last minute run to Home Depot.
