Uggh. I don't know why it's this game, but I think I may have finally come to the conclusion that we need a striker in January. I have been supportive of Torres for a very long time, but I just don't think he'll ever be the Liverpool Torres. I am concerned now. We need a clinical striker. Whether it be Cavani or Falcao, we need one.
Bizarrely listless performance. Wonder if we're seeing the effects of a tough stretch of games, there was a distinct lack of energy out there. That said, Liverpool got lucky with none of the officials spotting Suarez's little shove on Ramires. I don't see how that doesn't get called back if it's spotted.
Danny has looked rusty as hell and the only way to fix that was time on the pitch. Torres has done f all to continue starting. Its time for Danny to get a run out.
It'd be nice to have a striker. I watch Chicharito, Aguero, Dzeko, RVP, Suarez, etc., grab meaningful goals in 95% of games, then I watch.....Torres. Wow. What a difference.
I've reached the same conclusion. Torres isn't getting it done. We need a world class striker. That is no longer Torres.
With the salary cap there is less to play with. Every team has glaring discrepancies for which a manager can't do much in terms of player upgrade.
Except for when he needed to see Suarez push off Ramieres for the goal. Other than that he was great.
Also, that's two points out of nine in the League with one out of six point in the last two at home. That's a shitty ROI.
Chelsea score a well-worked corner. Liverpool "score" an illegal goal from a corner. Shock. Torres faded towards the end of his day, but he was maybe our best attacker on the day (though Oscar was excellent in the 2nd half and should have not have been withdrawn). Torres simply didn't get much service. We are too quick to cross the ball into a 1v3 situations. No idea why Hazard refuses to run at defenders in the final third. Anyway, should have been a hard-fought 1-0 victory. No reason for Suarez to get away with that. May have been a touch offside as well, but I won't nit-pick over there. 99% sure Terry snapped his leg. Just wanted to point that out because no one mentioned it. Definitely not an ACL. Speaking of ACL's... Gerrard did a great job of pretending his was damaged to stop a very dangerous period of pressure for us. A minute later he was steaming 100 miles an hour to cut out a pass. Lol.
That's the frustrating part too. Hazard is a great dribbler and so are Oscar and Mata, but they play the pass too often. I would rather see them run at a defender and beat him or draw a foul. We are pretty good at attacking set pieces.
if that was the case the ground would have opened up and swallowed Suarez but thanks for stopping by with your insight
very frustrated as I think that vermin Suarez assisted in stealing this game from us not in the Clattenberg sense of stealing but in the sense that they deserved very little and got something they did not deserve out of the game it does appear that we do have some type of identity with the middle three but still have very little from the lone striker which continues to be an issue
