I wouldn't have a problem with ExxonMobil (or any other oil company) if it weren't for the fact that their massive profits are actually subsidized by taxpayers and that they're still fighting the Exxon Valdez settlement.

I worked as a fish slimer for two years in Alaska. The second year my prospective employment got cancelled when, several months after the spill, they found oil in the water around Kenai.

So I was part of the class action for lost wages against Exxon...I was the lowest paid class, "cannery workers". I got 300 or 400$...

...but it took 16 years to be paid that. Exxon has played the tactics of delay. Eventually, if you delay well enough, some of the people you owe money to die off, and no one follows up, and they save some money.
