Definitely a roller coaster til the end, and a hard fought game overall. Really anxious final few minutes . Ginczek and Drmic strong games again, being aggressive offensively. Pinola has really adjusted well covering the central defence with good stability. A huge result for the 3 points, which pulls us up to 15th on the table and currently out of the relegation zone.
2 big victories after the winter break. Verbeek's tactics and systems finally coming to full effect after going through a full training camp together. Team displaying a greater sense of confidence and overall flow. Drmic made that crucial 2nd goal happen. Able to steal possession from Hertha players, then his nice feed to Ginczek sprung that first opportunity off the post. Good instinct from Drmic to follow up on the rebound for goal.
Verbeek's planning is bringing out the best of our players. We're playing much more resilient now, with a more efficient attacking strategy. Pinola is a warrior for us. Even with Plattenhardt emerging and taking over his natural LB position, Pinola had embraced his new role and is solid in central. Also much respect and love for the 3,000 fans who travelled to Berlin to support the team.

Gotta believe that with the play of late after the winter break, Der Club is capable of anything and with those scumbags from Bayern making the trip up the A-9 this weekend for the Bayern Derby am thinking that maybe the 3 points or at least one get to stay home for 1FCN!!
Almost the 1:0 for FCN... And Bad news... :/ Injured! #Chandler out of action for about 8-10 Weeks! #Ginczek out of action for about 6 months! #FCN— 1. FC Nürnberg News (@FCN_en) February 8, 2014
I don't want anybody to get injured, I also have a lot of friends who are Nürnberg supporters but I must really say that I was upset by the abysmal conditions on the pitch today. The two severe injuries of Ginzcek and Chandler are at at least partially the result of those circumstances as well. Trying to undermine Bayern's short-pass game by letting the pitch deteriorate to the point of a 4th division pitch really backfired on Nürnberg and their chances to avoid relegation. If this wasn't intentional then you should consider firing your groundsman.
Truly unfortunate. Both players have been really important for us in the recent wins. Best wishes to them on recovery.

Should be a real challenge today against Augsburg who's been in great form as of late. Notable lineup changes: Drmic moved up to striker, Mak starts on the wing, Nilsson returns as starter, Angha starts at RB.
Augsburg's well coordinated defence keeping us quiet so far at half time. Kiyotake with some nice passing plays but really no clear chances on net. Defensively we've held up decently. Several shots and free kick set pieces from Augsburg but Schäfer's been solid in net.
Nice header by Drmic. Good elevation to meet that cross by Hlousek, and technique to guide it in. Real striker's instinct.
Well fought win today. Important 3 points gained on the road, and pulls us ahead of Freiburg and Stuttgart in the standings. Gotta love the support from the fans again travelling with us on the road.
Solid debut for Campana. Showed clever ball movement with vision and awareness around him. Ball security and control of possession was consistent. Strong tackling ability. Good combination of power and creativity. I think he can operate and compliment the midfield well with Kiyotake. Looking forward to more of his play.
I like elements of Campana's game and what he brings to our team. As Verbeek continues to integrate him in our squad, he can be a impact player for us this campaign. Him and Petrak have been positive additions.
