Anyone know when Bundesliga fixtures will be released? How difficult for an American to get tix for RheinEnergie Stadion?

I'm not an expert on this, but I would guess that, for the majority of matches, some tickets go on general sale. There's an 'online ticket shop' where you can check availability etc.
Many of our home matches end up being sold out or very nearly sold out, so I'd definitely advise ordering your tickets as early as possible. (There are some exceptions, namely our matches against Wolfsburg and other teams with few travelling supporters).

So, my friendly Geißböcke, what are Köln's biggest needs this off-season, in your opinion?

Our squad is too big. Kessler, Yabo and Terodde have been loaned out already, but I wouldn't mind if Ishiaku, Ionatia, Sanou and Giannoulis left us, too.
After a big fuss was made about the release clause in his contract, it seems clear now that Peszko will stay. Adil Chihi has signed a new contract, and AC Siena have given us the green light to buy Mato Jajalo. It is probably fair to say that opinion is divided on these players, but I'm quite happy for them to stay. Our only new signing so far is Odise Roshi, a young Albanian midfielder, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few other unknown talents were to follow. Finke has a reputation for finding such players before others do.
However, we are also reported to be interested in Sascha Riether. I'm not sure what our chances are of signing him, but I would be delighted if he joined us. (When Getafe sell Derek Boateng, we are in for a little treat because we are allegedly entitled to a part of the transfer fee.)

Jajalo is a good young player..Kid is good technically and is a hard working player in training..He will only get better and better..Glad to hear he is staying at your club..

Thanks a lot, and good luck to Hamburg too! It will be interesting to see how the all-new HSV fares next season.
As to our kit, I think Reebok is about to stop producing football shirts anyway. Perhaps we will soon revert to Adidas.

Derek Boateng moves on to FC Dnipro, so we'll get a handy cash infusion. I hope it is enough to sign Riether. He has expressed his wish to join us, which is a good sign. Another good sign: Finke is doing a good job downsizing our squad.

Not a brilliant result, but I read that Solbakken fielded many youngsters in this match. Meanwhile, some newspapers report that we are really close to signing Sascha Riether. Looking forward to that.

There's no confirmation on the official club website yet, but several media claim that Riether has joined us. A very good signing IMO.

It's actually pretty simple. I was at the Hannover 1.fc Koln match last march. Got my tickets at about 35 euro row 27 at about the penalty spot. I believe it was Sud entry gate. You buy them right off the site, then pick them up at a ticket spot located in a building on the right side of the giant Stadion sign. Assuming your coming in from the Train Station. DO note that the website is in german and you must understand some German.

I bought yesterday tickets to the Kaiserslaughten match and there was a lot less seats open than last year but still a few. Especially if your just looking for less than 3 seats. Its an awesome Experience, great stadium, easy to get to via Rail from not only most of Koln but from all over NRW.

    Thank you MicFW

Good result this afternoon although I still worry about the Midfield. I like Chihi pace and Jajalo is promissing. Great to see Poldolski and Novi Are picking up where they left off of last season. A decent contribution from Chihi, Jajalo and Clemmens should have us in contention for a Europa League spot.

Is there a moderator who could include the above in our thread title, please? :)

I've read that Rensing and Mohamad might be back just in time for the Wolfsburg match. Another piece of good news is that Poldi seems to have stopped sulking about his loss of the captaincy.

Let's all be upbeat about the new season... disappointment will set in soon enough. :D

[FONT=&quot]I think Koln will have a similar year to last season fighting relegation but finishing somewhere around the 14th position in the league. I have a feeling Podolski will be sold at the end of the year. I can see why he is no longer the captain there but I think it’s time for him to take on a bigger challenge after he keeps the Billygoats up for one more season.

That's a more complete recap/live update of a match than what I had to offer my fellow Wolfsburg supporters on the VfL Thread, I'll tell ya, you're really on top of everything, not just on goals like myself, but substitutions, bookings, match officials, etc. I wish I could do that, split time between watching the match and reporting on it as well like I'm sure you did.

Thanks. I try to do this for as many games as I'm up for. I tailed off a bit towards the end of last season when things seemed to become depressing.

Speaking of which, second round of the Pokal was drawn today.
Köln will play away to Hoffenheim. :(

So I assume, since you also happen to live on the West Coast (in the Fresno area telling by your profile and the area code reference) that you must've gotten up out of bed at around 5:30-6:00 am PDT to watch the match as I do every matchday, it shows that you're as much a passionate FC Koln fan as I am one for Wolfsburg.

BTW, as I read, you've pretty much got your work cut out for you in the next round of the DFB-Pokal, my best wishes go out to you in that next match, I know it will be a tough one against Hoffenheim.

Totally agree, you're doing a great job writing the match summaries in this thread, Unclesox. Much appreciated. :)

Too bad we didn't get a result in this first match. :(
