tough chance...cross from the right but he's left of the net so he has to aim it in but goes straight wide

3 FWs occupying same space... all bunched up together. Simply waiting for a cross....

Altidore is terrible. Sunderland look as unimaginative as ever.

Altidore was fine. He held up play pretty well with his strength...but he and sess just opt to take shots or get by opponents rather than looking for the pass. Agree they are desperately in need of a playmaker

hes like a toned down version of Taarabt....who we all know and love
If Sess leaves PDC will probably have Ji to fill the void. Hopefully PDC uses that money for a freaking CM

Ji was using his size and strength pretty well.

Just saw the MOTD highlights for the game. Fulham was lucky to win the match thanks to Sketelenberg. Altidore wasn't shite. Sessegnon did nothing to contribute to the team. Ji's chance was a golden one... He should have done much better with that.

I feel like those kind of headers require actually having a lot of skill at heading the ball. Like only forwards like Didier or Rickie Lambert could have tucked that one in. There wasn't a great connection with the ball to his head and it required a lot of directional force.

I would like to see him get more chances at least.

The camera movement at one point made it look like he was looking back at the manager for approval and Di Canio just shook his head in judgment

wow...a bit harsh. Wasn't the easiest of chances but yes should have at least worked the GK.

That's what I saw as well at first. But the commentators said that that was just a waste of a glorious chance, and that he should have buried it.

Emphasized because it was towards the end & it was about the only "real" chance they had the whole game.

Not really. They had 5 or 6 good chances to go ahead.

They kept pumping it forward instead of spreading the play just like they did last year. Played right into Martin Jol's late match plans with Hangeeland absorbing all of the long balls. WTF do they expect JDW to do? It's not like Sess did anything all match long. Altidore used his body but didn't create any chances either other.

I saw a few good near post runs that JDW made and Adam Johnson missed. I also saw a few horrendous crosses when JDW was making runs into the box. There was also a good layoff in the box that I think Altidore bypassed to shoot himself.

JDW made plenty of inviting runs that were just ignored. If Sunderland fans want to only see dribbling in possession, let them keep Sessegnon and be frustrated for hours other than the few flashes of glory. And if they want to pump it forward, let them develop Wickham so he can be the poor man's Andy Carrol.

Whatever. They've blocked his transfers. If they (the fans don't want him) no big loss. B/c he SHOULD move to Germany where he's appreciated and will get the crucial match minutes for our World Cup campaign.
