I don't know if I'd call Wilshere their second best player but he's certainly the type of player that England needs.

Well I'd say the two players that make the biggest difference to England from their 2010 epic bore a thon to now are Joe Hart and Jack Wilshere.

Can't believe Chygrynsky isn't going to Euro's. We are so f'd unless Mykhailyk plays like he did around 2008-early 2009 (which I doubt he will). Anything is better than Kucher though ffs. Feel bad for Chygro, hate to see young talent be wasted like this. He unluckily missed a place at the 2006 World Cup with an injury as well

Political problems have put a damper on the euros for me. Not a big Tymoschenko supporter, but watching the entire process has been nauseating.

As for the team: outside of Yarmo and 'planka not much to excited about. Though they have had some positive results recently.

I think Voronin is gonna get one more serious look, Devic is first off the bench. And mihalik for kucher even though rak and Kuch have some chemistry

Is Mykhalyk in form right now? Voronin I gave up on him in the N.T. a long time ago, is Blohin still a believer?

I was done with Voronin a while back as well, but damn it it's hard to ignore his club form for Hertha and now Dinamo. I gotta hunch Blohkin is similarly tempted.

    ---- Pyatov ----
    Rotan --- Mykhalyk --- Rakitskyi --- Selin
    Husev --- Tymoschuk --- Konoplyanka --- Yarmolenko
    Milevskyi --- Sheva

Kucher should be nowhere near a starting line-up. In fact, he should never even be on the bench. Butko is too green, too nervous to play at this level, I would use Rotan as an RB. Rotan has played a little RB, and he is very reliable. Can't imagine anyone else in support of Sheva than Milya.

Lol at Rotan 1st choice RB!!! If its not Butko I imagine it will be Gusiev?? Didn't he play RB in the friendlies or for Dynamo this spring??

Didn't Shevchuk start most games for Shakhtar this spring? Pretty sure he will get tipped to start the first game because we can't afford to have any typical stupid Ukrainian mistakes in the first game. More chance of that happening with a young inexperienced player like Selin. But if he's really better than Shevchuk then give him a go.

How do you guys rate Yevgeni Seleznyov? Wasn't he top scorer this season?

He's decent. He scored 14 goals but only 4 of them were good legit goals. All the others were garbage goals he got by playing for a superior team like Shakhtar, overwhelming their UPL opponents.

I must say its stupid for the pundits to criticize him for only scoring 14 compared to top strikers in the top leagues in Europe. First of all, they play 8 fewer games in Ukraine, helloooo!!!! Second, he wasn't 1st choice striker even.

He played 1177 minutes total in UPL this season, 84 min avg for a single goal. Maicon had 2007 minutes to score the same amount.

Scores in bunches late. There is a reason he's playing so little - he is not very good.

There's another reason - virtues of L. Adriano seems quite more suitable for plans of Lucescu, despite Seleznyov being definitely better onetouch finisher, maybe a better finisher overall, it doesn't really matter for the scheme Shakhtar plays. And seems for UNT too with all the changes Blokhin did.

They are both garbage. If I was Lucescu this last season I would of played Eduardo more in the striker position. I honestrly don't know why they even bought Eduardo. He's clearly the best striker on the squad, but Lucescu constantly either brought him off the bench or started him in an AM position. I think Shakhtar should get rid of Adriano, keep Seleznyov for the bench/rotational purposes/uki passport reason, and get a true all round striker that has speed, strength, heading and finishing ability.
Also they have been needing a Left Back for 3 years now. I expect them to finally freaking solve this problem ffs.

Ukraine's squad from last nights 16-1 win v. Antalyaspor B team. Also Blokhin's mother passed away unfortunately right before the game so he flew to Ukraine to attend to matters. Terrible timing, condolences to him.

    Украина (1-й тайм): - Горяинов (Бандура, 31), Селин, Михалик, Ракицкий, Бутко, Степаненко, Алиев, Ярмоленко, Коноплянка, Шевченко, Девич;
Украина (2-й тайм) - Бандура (Коваль, 61), Шевчук, Кучер, Хачериди, Мандзюк, Гармаш, Назаренко, Воронин, Гусев, Милевский, Селезнев.

Judging from this line up that started the match I think its almost a lock that will be our back 4. Good chance Yarmo-Kono is the combo but maybe Gusiev gets picked over Yarmo since I heard he's been struggling for form a bit. Sheva and Devic sounds about right unless Voronin can impress. But I assume Sheva will be used as a withdrawn striker so Milevsky and Voronin are out of luck. Maybe only Seleznyov can take Devic's spot and I don't think the coaches see him as a starter. So only places to be disputed as I see it are the 2 center mids and 1 belongs to Tymo, plus the goalkeeper.

Gusev over Yarmolo? Who said Yarmolenko is struggling in form? In fact it's Gusev who got injured recently, so he's the one that's struggling in form.

Some of the usual pundits have said it. Yarmolenko started the season on fire and faded late. Opposite for Konoplyanka

Btw, about the Maxim girls. Seleznyov has a nice piece. She birthed him a son and she's still looking top notch. Kono's looks good but I expect better from him;)

Lol I was actually thinking the same thing cause I knew he has a son. Damn she looks good!!! Konoplya's looks good too. Gusev's looks like a dumb blonde, down to fck whenever hahah

We look pretty average but a pretty sick goal from Yarmolenko after good work from Voronin and Naz.

Voronin played Devic through before that and the latter took a great first touch but then tried to meg the defender and wasted a good chance to shoot. Of course if he completed the move I'd be raving about how deadly our attacking line will be :D

Same ol' Ukraine still scared to play splitting through balls to create advantages and break down the defensive lines lol sad

Speaking of defensive lines, our shape looks terrible with the ball. Tactics aren't good right now, same ol' Ukraine b.s. no chance to retain possession of the ball in the midfield against a good team who presses us high.

Voronin and Sheva play the otyanutava napadayushi role right now. I don't see us taking Milevsky but maybe we have more surplus of midfielders and is safety in case Sheva/Voronin get hurt since both are on the wrong side of 30

Still I don't think guys looking like this is who Blokhin is looking to go to battle with. Cutting him well send a strong message to the team that this is for real, no clowns allowed!
